I don't know why Calzaghe is trying to justify making the fight with Pavlik. I thought Calzaghe-Jones had virtually been done since the minute he beat Hopkins.

Even Pavlik's manager says Roy-Calzaghe makes more sense - Roy is a BIGGER name.

So.. Pavlik and his team are so confident about beating Calzaghe that, after beating Taylor, he was meant to fight Duddy (before his injuries) then fought Lockett after being linked with Lorenzo, Griffin and even welterweight Paul Williams. Now they are fighting a Calzaghe victim in ancient old Hopkins.

Is that the path a fighter only CHASING the best challenges would take? Don't think so.

If Pavlik and Calzaghe win a fight is about 99%.

Calzaghe still refuses to say this is it with any consistancy. Calzaghe vs Pavlik would make serious money.

I dont think Joe expected the reaction to him not fighting Kelly P. Not only casual fans but his own fans. Considering the lack of opportunity earlier in his reign to fight the best i think he fans would be beyond distraught. I know i would be

Joe will run from him. If Calzaghe was a country he would be France.

As much as i'd love to see Pavlik fighting Calzaghe, i think that if Jones beats him then Calzaghe fans will have less to cry about.. Jones is older than Calzaghe, so they can't say that it was because calzaghe was getting old if he loses.. If Pavlik fights calzaghe and beats him for joes first defeat, everyone will say, "he should've retired, he was way past his prime and got greedy.. that would've happened to anyone who was that old.. etc etc"

Let's put it this way though, as far as who's to believe on this topic.. If Pavlik got offered to fight Calzaghe, even when he was at 160, do you REALLY think he'd decline? HELL NO! In the article joe said something to the extent of him rematching taylor instead of fighting him or whatever, but Pavlik HAD to fight Taylor if Taylor wanted the rematch.. it was in the contract..

Especially with the way Jack Leow views his fighter, he would never be afraid to put Kelly in the ring with anyone.. He fought Miranda and beat him down.. that was the plan, go in there and make him back up, and be relentless.. He KO'd Taylor, someone who was undefeated, hits pretty hard, and beat BHop twice.. and now he's fighting B-Hop..

Of those above mentioned events, which of them would you draw the conclusion that Pavlik would be afraid, or apprehensive to fight Calzaghe?

I'm guessing you don't mean Napoleonic France? Or, really, France in any other modern conflict other than WWII where their leadership failed them completely.

Wake up and smell the coffee and have some Croisants while your at it

Calzaghe will beat Jones and I think he deffinitly beats Pavlik but at Joes age, it could all just fal apart, he is 36 which for an unbeaten undisputed multi weight fighter of Joe's stature is unheard of.

Howerver many people bitch about Joe, no one can deny that even for just his age, what he is acheiving is amazing, at the top of his game and the best in gthe world and never having taking steroids to do it either

Smell what coffee? what am I missing that you feel is completely obvious?

Regardless of how i feel personally (i would love Joe to lose every time he steps in the ring) I did not say that I think Jones and/or Pavlik were going to beat him.. All i said was that IF Joe loses to Roy, Calzaghe fan's would have less to cry about.. That's just how it goes.. You can't say that Joe lost to someone younger and hungrier than him, you can't say that Joe lost to someone in his prime, etc..

But i'm sure that if he does lose, you will come up with some extravagant excuse making yourself feel better.. something like "his nose was broken, so he couldn't breathe well" That was a good one for the Cotto fans..

Nothing worst than a lying slapper. He needs to prepare for RJJ and Kelly for Bhop. All this I said he said stuff is pointless talk until the ink is on the paper. Were so sick of hearing slappers name in the YO. Can't wait to go to "little Youngstown" aka Atlantic City when the ghost is in town.
