Default Mosely-Mayorga,Who do you think was winning?

I was supprised to find out that SSM was ahead going in to the 12th round on 2 of the 3 score cards.

I did not score the fight but the general inpression I got was that Mayorga was doing the better work, throwing more punches and landing the better shots.

The Sky TV commontator Jim Watt thought Mayorga was well ahead so that might have influenced my opinion and also my 3 year old daughter was climbing all over me through the fight so I did not pay full attention.

    What do you think guys.

I had it neck and neck, Mayorga throwing a lot more and Mosley throwing way less and being a bit more accurate. You could say a piece for either guy going into that round, but it was level enough for me.

I had it pretty even too . I think Shanes big finish would have secured it on the cards for him had the ref not stopped it anyway. Poor performance by Shane but a k.o win in that style looks pretty impressive

Like most I reallly thought it was close going into the final round.

I had the 'benefit' of the HBO commentary and found it to be the most biased telecast I've ever seen.

Mayorga for the most part was more aggressive and had a far higher workrate, plus he kept catching Shane repeatedly but Lampley et al just didn;t even acknowledge.

Had it gone to the scorecards I would have had no problem with a close Mosely points win but HBO were trying to suggest that Mayorga was being schooled by Mosely and that wasn't even remotely the case.

The awesome KO aside I'd say Mayorga comes out of the fight with his reputation enhanced whereas many will now say it's time for Shane to quit.

Apparently of the three official judges one had Mayorga ahead by a point, one had Mosely ahead by a point and one had Mosely ahead by 4 points.

Certainly the judges had a better understanding of this fight than did HBO I think.

It's interesting that Watt had Mayorga ahead, Merchant, Lampley and Steward just all took turns to stroke Mosely's cock and give him some deep throat action.

    It was ludicrous.

Well Jim Watt of Sky TV said the opposite. He thought Mayorga was well ahead.I think on Jims score card he was winning by 4 or 5 rounds.

I wouldn't have had Mayorga well ahead but I certainly felt it was a really close fight.

Mayorga suprised me with his activity level and was throwing mutliple combinations. There's no doubt he was more up for this fight than any fight in a long time, and he looked massive for the weight.

I thought it was a really close competitive fight and disagree totally with anyone who had either Mosely or Mayorga comfortably ahead.

To me it was one of those fights that could have gone either way on the cards.

But it's all irellevent now as Mosely proved why he's one of the greatest with a superb KO at the end.

Thought Mayorga was missing a lot, hard to score of the TV mind it always is. it was close.

To be honest i thought most of the rounds were pretty easy to score, i had it 7-4 to Mosley going into the 12th round.

Mosley landed the cleaner effective punches especially with the counter shots, as he was catching Mayorga coming in all the time.

Mayorga threw more punches but they were mostly wild ineffective punches, which were missing especially his flurries, which he tried to fool the judges with.

Quite suprised some people had it that close, i thought it was close in the middle rounds, then Mosley pulled away in the later rounds.

As Mayorga was landing at a lower and lower percentage.

That was exactly my scorecard. Once Mosley got used to the wild angles and a little steam came off Mayorga's punches, Mosley took over. In the beginning, he was very cautious and rightfully wary of Mayorga's power, but Mayorga was landing very little. Shane was just peppering him with clean straight rights.

So from what everybody has said on here it was very close and could have gone ethier way which is what the oficial judges had it.

WOW! not often you praise the judges of a top fight.

in my eyes, an easy fight to score. SSM took a round off here and there, but by and large, was well ahead going into 12. mayorga is nothing more than an amateurish brawler with bull strength. he has no skill whatsoever, and that's why he loses against top fighters.

the better man won. justice was served.

i had mosley winning by 2 rounds but everybody was scoring it differently espn had ssm winning by 2, when they showed the scorecard during the fight they had mayorga by like 3 rounds. but it was not a good performance by mosley i hope he doesnt fight like that if he fights tony.
