Default Anyone besides me excited about Andrade/Bute?

Don't see much about it on the boards...Me I think it will be entertaining as hell....Librado Andrade and his chin of Granite VS Butes punching power going at it for the IBF strap.....

I take Andrade personally but that is just one guys opinion...Anyone else looking forward to this? It's less then 2 weeks away...The winner will more then likely face Kessler to see who is the dominate champ at 168

Hell yeah this is going to be a great fight, I think Bute is going to underestimate Andrade's defense which has improved ten fold since his fight with Mack. It's very much a pick'em, but I can see Andrade just wearing Bute out down the stretch.

There's been a lot of talk about it... The threads have just been pushed back now...

    Here's one:

The general sensus is that Bute will outbox Librado.
I'm rooting for Librado and I think he will win a hard fought fight by SD.

Any fight involving Andrade is fan-friendly as f^ck. I am a bit torn about who to root for here though - on the one hand how can anyone not root for Andrade? The guy is the real deal as a person, humble and determinated, and fights the fight we love to see. On the other hand, I would like to see the winner in against Kessler (as you hinted), but there isnt really any point to do this, if Andrade should win. I am fairly sure that outcome would be the same.

FWIW I think Bute will be too smart also. There is a certain truth to the Margarito-Cotto analogies, but while Cotto could not refrain from trading, I dont think Bute will mind going 12 careful rounds.

Nice heads up.I like this one,Anything Andrade is in has mass potential to be exciting,I second Sheep as far as some improvment in Andrades Defense and offense is relentless.I can see spots where Bute southpaw shiftiness might be a problem but he strikes me as one that will also welcome some exchanges.Im going with Andrade and can see both being stunned in the process.

Thats how I see it going myself...Unless Bute makes sure he keeps moving...For as tough as Andrade is he is just as slow.....

But to try and trade with the guy your stamina will be tested to the limit....He seems to just keep taking those punches......This will certainly be a war......

My pick is Librado but both men will put up a hell of a fight

I want Andrade, but I think Bute pulls it out. Bute will be a lot faster than Andrade. Once Bute realizes he can't hurt Andrade he won't risk any tough exchanges and will be content winning on the cards.

To the Thread Starter: where did you hear that the winner faces Kessler?

Yea i've been interested in this one considering i've been saying for awhile, that Lucian Bute is the darkhorse of the division. I was impressed how he stopped Kabary Salem, who had floored Joe Calzaghe heavily and gave him 12 tough/awkward rounds, plus he had never been stopped before.

And also his win over Sakio Bika no one at that time had an easy time with Sakio Bika, not even Joe Calzaghe. Yet Lucian Bute schooled him, i expect Lucian Bute to school Librado Andrade aswell. Unless Librado Andrade can make his power apparent.

Andrade is completely different than Salem and Bika, Bika wings wild shots from left field and Salem is just a one shot plodder. Andrade is relentless, he's hit the canvas before, but you just can't stop him. I think that the key for Andrade is not to outmuscle Bute, but just outwork him for 12 rounds, which he is more than capable of doing.

I wern't comparing Librado Andrade to either of those fighters, i was just saying Lucian Bute impressed me in those fights. But now you brought it up, Sakio Bika may not be as good as Librado Andrade. But i think he is just as strong and his chin isn't that far off either.

Lucian Bute moves well and fights well from the outside, and right off the bat Librado Andrade will struggle with those tactics i just mentioned. Librado Andrade does roll with the punches better, and his defense has made an improvement.

But he is still limited although very exciting i think Lucian Bute, is a bad style match up for him. And will win quite wide on the scorecards.

You know it's great you're bringing up these counterpoints, because that just shows to me how great of a fight this is gonna be. Can't wait.

Yeah this is a great match-up!!!

I'll be hoping Andrade can pull it off but I just think Bute will be a little to crafty!

Just to add: were you aware that while they are the same height, both stand 6'2, Andrade has an 8" reach advantage over Bute (78" to 70")?
