This would have been great at one point, maybe when James was at cruiser.
Now James has slown down too much probably, Hopkins a bit too quick.

Yea maybe, I don't really like the idea of Hopkins putting on 25+ pounds to fight at HW this age though? Toney could just be to strong having been walking around so much bigger for years. Either way it wouldn't really have a lot of merit if it were to happen at this point imo, neither guys have the time to waste on this.. Toney might have something left he might not, Hopkins definetly does but how long would it take him to put on that much weight properly yada yada..
I have no idea how Bernard Hopkins would get to 200 pounds, his frame isn't that big. And his attributes would go down the toilet if he put on that much weight, plus James Toney would have atleast 30+ pound advantage.
This would of been great to see when they were both at there best, two of the most skilled throwback fighters of this era. But its simple mathematics no way Bernard Hopkins can get that high in weight healthily IMO.
He wouldn't go up that far in weight.
At least I'd be shocked if he did. Probably no more than 180 at most.
Now I'm talking about this like its an actual possibility
My point is that James Toney being more dedicated wouldn't help anything. You don't think James Toney was dedicated when he was fighting at 168 or cruiser? You don't think James was dedicated when he took on John Ruiz and Evander Holyfield? Being as dedicated as Mayweather doesn't do anything for James Toney, doesn't give him any wins he didn't already have, and doesn't give him any losses he didn't already have.
James Toney is great as is end of story.....that's all I have to say about him. Although I dislike him and his fans a bunch.
I only used Wlad to get you to respond but instead I get hounded about Muhamed Ali as always
