Most definitely bro, movement will hurt Kelly bad.
But arthur doesn't have that type of movement. Arthurs Defense is the same as Winky and Clotteys, the only difference is he fights off the ropes instead of in the center(clottey) or moving foward (winky).
He also isn't that active of a puncher until the final minute of the rounds. When pressured, he hits the ropes and looks to counter punches with left hooks, all from the shell. This is where the problem lies. The moment someone is on the ropes againts Pavlik, he begins to work. The one time I've seen Arthur actively move in a fight is when he fought miranda the first time, after getting his jaw broken. He looked terrible doing it. ARthurs an incredible fighter but can't fight while moving.. he'll come in with his usual style and quickly find out that it's tailor made for Kelly.
Who wins? I have no idea, i'd love to see the fight. But arthurs team just turned down a fight with Winky - who fights like Kelly.. minus the size and power.. possibly a little busier, and better defense. Obviously if they thought winky was a threat, kelly surely is too.
Did Arthur's team turn down the fight against Winkie or the other way around?
Like a few other posters, I don't see AA moving like Hopkins nor does he have the ring experience of Hopkins. Also, Just because the blueprint to beat Pavlik has been laid, doesn't mean everyone will be able to follow it.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Kelly does better against smaller fighters, which is partly why he should stay at middleweight for as long as possible. For example, he struggled against Hopkins who looked to be physically as big as Kelly, or at least close. With AA, however, Pavlik has a 3 1/2 inch advantage in height and reach.
Pavlik will be making the right move to defend his belts for the next 3-4 fights prior to an AA fight.
Honestly, even before Hopkins I favored Abraham in this fight. He is quicker than Pavlik, a little more versatile, and power in both hands. But he is no slickster like Hopkins, so I certainly wouldn't rule Pavlik out. He has been in with the better competition, afterall.
