Thread: Frankie Gavin turns pro!

Just watching the Friday Fight Night Live on Sky Sports1 and Frank Warren has annouced that he is signing Frankie Gavin.Their were both at ring side and both agreed that a fight will be set for him in Feb 2009

I saw it in the pub but couldn't hear it. Lots of competition at Frankie's weight, but Frank should make him wealthy before he gets in the ring with anybody dangerous.

No disrespect to Amir Khan,but i see Frankie fighting at a better level.Obviously Warren will choose some soft opponants first but i see Frankie wanting to hit the big time as soon as possible.Im surprised that Frankie went with Warren.I thought he would have went with either ODH or Hattons promotions or Hayemaker Haye promotors!!I see him doing really good,he has the tools!

I've been following FG since the Commonwealths years ago and i rate him head and shoulders above any of the recent crop of new UK talent,masterful boxer who is a joy too watch and just makes it look so easy,boxes on the back foot and has all the tools in the bag.
Seriously touting this fella to get at least a European title
Huge talent and a future star imo and the fact that he failed to make weight at the Olympics will put added fire in his belly!!
Brilliant signing for Warren and he badly needs a Gavin at this point in his Promotional career.

Frank has his critics, but he is very exerienced at guiding people's careers, Ithink going with Haye/Hatton would have been rash.

He should learn from Khan's mistakes that an amateur pedigree doesn't guarantee succes, he'll have to work hard every step of the way.

He will adapt well to the Pro Game Im sure.

what weight class is he starting at?
