Fortunately even if he doesn't have it, he should still beat Malignaggi pretty easily, I'll be shocked if this fight is competitive.

Gonna be interesting to see ... and he will need to be lively against Malinagi, because although he may not be the best puncher in the world the lad is hard as nails and could just have enough angles to cause an under prepared Hatton a world of shit ...

Having said that IF & its a massive IF Hatton can re create the body and mental attitude that took him past Kostya Tsu then this fight shouldnt be close ... I hope with all of my heart Im wrong ... but I believe Hatton peaked the night he beat Kostya Tsu, and I think his best days are now behind him,

Getting beat by Mayweather showed Rick he wasnt invincible, and the worst opponent they coulda picked at Welter espesh ... what was the Hatton camp thinking .. other than money,

He shoulda took out Gatti then Cotto two fights which woulda made his marketing value in the USA soar, with two fighters that I believe was made for him .. but they never came to be...

    But good luck Rick..

I think he's definitely past his peak, his lifestyle outside of the ring is probably as much to blame as the damage he has taken in the ring, but that doesn't mean he isn't still a great fighter and by far the best at 140. He should handle PM.

As long as he doesn't try the philly shell ALA Mayweather Sr. should be smooth sailing. I expect 10-2 in Hatton's favor.

I think Hatton might be good for 3 or 4 more fights. He certainly wont have the longevity that Calzaghe has. His between fight binge eating and drinking will see to that.

For the time being I think he can keep 140 as his own, but he should stay away from WW.

Ricky Hatton was never the same after the Tszyu fight...blah blah I know I said it many times I bore myself Training with Floyd might be a good thing for Rickys longevity, should he wish to have 4-5 more fights. For me though, Ricky Hatton is 65% the fighter he was. Before the Tszyu fight he was much more of an animal and twice as hungry.

    Sorry but i disagree.

He was sloppy in quite a few fights against much weaker opposition than he is facing now. He got away with it because he was 'on the up'. bad performances against the likes of Vilches, Krivolapov....even Maussa. He was also hurt quite a few times earlier on against Quiros, Magee,Phillips and Tackie. But when people see him get hurt now, they say his punch resistance has gone to shit. That's not the case......imo it's never been that fantastic. I've seen him shook quite a few times......just he's managed to survive mainly because he was in there with fighters below his level.

I just think he has had to modify his style slightly because he is fighting much better opposition. I think people need to stop using the Tszyu performance as a yardstick to measure him on.....because he'll never better that performance. To me he's just as good as he's always been.....which is pretty good....but not quite great.
