One of the silly things during the episode was when Oscar was talking about his fight with Mayweather, and regarding his loss he says "watch the fight, it was clearly the wrong game plan" (referring to the game plan Roach gave him).
No, the game plan was fine, just Oscar did a really shitty job of executing it.. Did you hear Freddie yelling from the corner "That jab is working Oscar and is giving you the upper hand, so use it as little as possible"...
Oscar lost himself that fight against Mayweather.. So if he was serious about finding Freddie responsible for his in-ring performance, then I hope Pac whoops him even more than I hoped he would before he started blaming his poor execution on a poor game plan that he couldn't even follow.

I think the same thing. It wasn't Roach's gameplan, Oscar didn't execute...

don't do it man. it's not a shoo-in as you think it is. i got a feeling when all other factors come together come fight night it will be a highly competitive fight.

Several months back, even an idea of a Hatton fight was considered a bad one and only few whom some guys here considered as 'crazy fanatics' (ok, I wasn't one of them, though I don't mind being called one)even entertained the idea of an Oscar fight. But now, they have been bombarding us with all kinds of opinions and all of a sudden, 'there Is a fight!' or so it seems. Now as the fightnight gets near, even the opinions of the usual boxing X-perts here at the saddos seem to even out more and more. And me, I'm becoming confused myself. So Bookkeeper, or anyone else, tell me straight, is there a fight indeed? or is it just a well-disguised mismatch re-packaged by the HBO and the media into a real-deal fight, just like those junk mortgage bonds repackaged into a nice investment deal that were supposed to earn zillions of dollars but ended up in the dumps?

    ...and in the meantime...

...pac by ko with nice belly shot.

Pacfan you have to realize that we are all boxing fans, so no matter what kind of mismatch it is we will try to find an excuse of watching the fight. Couple weeks back when Joe and RJJ were fighting people were saying that Roy finally lost the weight and packed on the real muscle and that he was back to were he used to be (hyping the fight) then after the fight they were talking about how washed up he is and that he should retire. Don't get me wrong fighting Oscar is like winning the lottery, it's everyone's biggest payday so everyone wants that fight ( I don't blame Pac), but Pac just moved up to 135 for one fight and he is going against a guy who had a short stint at 160. Oscar should be about 10-15 pounds heavier on fightnight ( Maybe more)
as far as size difference is concern, it would be like pac going against darchinyan at 126lbs. i certainly wouldn't say it's a gross mismatch under that situation coz clearly vic would have a shot.

I didn't hear Roach saying anything...period...not during the rounds...not at the breaks. The man was a mute. If anything...i figured it was Freddy's plan to swarm Floyd and put pressure on him. Is there any evidence that Roach's plan was for Oscar to use the jab? I haven't watched the fight in a while. But Oscar started the fight pressuring and trying to unload everything on Floyd early. He started to use the jab more towards the middle of the fight...albeit briefly. Bottom line...both Roach and Pac should be kissing Oscar's ass for giving them the richest fight of their careers. Actually for Roach...Delahoya gave him major publicity and $$$ for the Floyd fight as well. So because of Oscar he has had the two biggest fights of his training career (by big i mean $$$ and publicity).

DLH received a black eye from his sparmate. Pac KDed his.

Anyways, HBO showed some of their flaws.

Oscar had a black eye only because he spars without head gear some times.

Pacman didnt knock down his sparmate they exaggerated that the sparmate slipped.

watch the spar sessions on 24/7 again pacman was swinging wild.

Moono are you related to addicted to boxing? All you do is make a negative comment about Pac. Why can't you just relax and wait for the fight. AFter the fight you make your judgment.

It's damn near impossible to make clear analysis about the fighters by 24/7 sparring footage. To be honest, neither fighter looked particularly impressive in the very brief sparring footage they showed of each. Pac, for all of his speed, still lunges forward a lot and often looks unbalanced. Oscar looked to be doing the whole lot of all out punching (much like he did for most of the Floyd fight) instead of jabbing and crisp combos. Does this mean anything come the actual fight...probably not.

Has anyone noticed DLH being far more raucous and outspoken in this 24/7 than against Mayweather?

Faced with the prospect of a Pacquiao fight he is talking a lot, being far more outspoken and aggressive than usual.

When it was Mayweather he knew he was the underdog and talked very very little.

    Interesting.

Maybe because his opponent now is less talker... PBF is a talking machine thats why Oscar let him do the talking to hype the fight.
