Default Another BLACKEYE for Oscar Dela Hoya...

VALERO: I WOULD HAVE KNOCKED OUT OSCAR IN THREE

link --> VALERO: I WOULD HAVE KNOCKED OUT OSCAR IN THREE

    "
Cebu City -- Venezuelan knockout artist Edwin Valero, who is in the country upon the invitation of Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao to attend Pacquiao's birthday bash last Wednesday in General Santos City, said here last night that if it was him who was fighting Oscar de la Hoya last Dec. 6, he would have finished off De La Hoya within three rounds.

"Oscar is soft as a baby," Valero told PhilBoxing thru his trainer and interpreter Rafael Garcia Jr before the start of formal press conference with the Cebu media at the Parklane Hotel here. "I would have knocked him out in three rounds if I was the one fighting him."

Valero, with a fearsome undefeated record of 24 wins all by knockout 19 of them in the first round, was hired by De La Hoya as a sparring partner at De La Hoya's Big Bear training camp in preparation for the 'Dream Match' fight with Pacquiao. But, according to Valero, he had sparred for only 8 rounds with De La Hoya and then he was dismissed.

Valero, who predicted that Pacquiao will knock out De La Hoya on the eve of the fight, insisted that it was him who gave a black eye on De La Hoya during their sparring session. "That [expletive] is a big liar," Valero blurted out in English when told that De La Hoya announced to all and sundry during the final press conference of the 'Dream Match' at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino that it was Victor Ortiz, a Golden Boy fighter with good potentials, who gave him the shiner on his right eye.

De La Hoya, who held world titles ten times and in six divisions, refused to come out in the 9th round after he was battered by the smaller Pacquiao all evening during their fight on Dec. 6 to mark one of the great upsets in boxing history."

Dela Hoya's stocks looked like severely hit by global recession... Could be in all time low... Poor Oscar (i mean the billionaire Oscar)...

Nope... not yet Master Bilbo... Valero and Diaz both visited the Philippines to attend Pacquiao's birthday (Dec.17) and grand victory celebration...

I'm guessing Valero would sign-up with TopRank instead of Golden Boy Promotions anytime soon...

Its nothing new really. When boxers are old and passed their primes you suddenly have boxers appear out of nowhere to challenge them and add a nice big name in their resume for an easy victory against an elder.

Where were all those boxers when the big name was in his prime?

Valero should be careful what he says imo because he wants to fight in the US. Burning bridges with Oscar is not a good move.

They were kids training to fight anyone, it's not their fault the old guy is hanging around, of course you would want the payday and beat a ten time champ.

Maybe he is also criticising Manny Pac,

I knew it was gonna be a long night for Oscar after round 2.

I stopped scoring after round 4.

Oscar lost his legs and power after round 6.

I told myself "get the stretcher ready" after round 8.

I believe Valero. Pac would've kayod DLH in 3, similar to Pac-EM3. It's just that Pac was being extremely careful.

Pac threw a lot of power shots but I didn't see him throw his signature "superman" straight left punch, which is leaping with his whole body with full force. I didn't see that at all. He was doubling with the left hand, almost kinda jab. He was actually jabbing with both hands.

you should see how the two communicate, Im starting to think valero may become pacs prodigy. Yes valero is signing with top rank and will train in the wild card gym soon as well.

The big question now is who really inflicted that actual BLACKEYE on Oscar?

    Edwin Valero said it's him...

    Oscar said it's Victor Ortiz...

I'm guessing that BLACKEYE demoralized Oscar from having more hard sparring sessions...

That's right. I forgot to add that besides having a big name in their resume it also means a big payday. So far, the biggest paycheck Pac has received is fighting ODLH. The fans of whoever beats a Big Name that is passed his prime, old, worned out, drained, out of gas, etc. forget those facts even if the their boxer himself as well as his team acknowledged that the Big Name was an elder when they faced him.

p.s to Chino you are bang on my friend
    CGM,

Now I want to see Valero lose .
