Default Oscar Vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

There's a few rumours in the Mexican press regarding this fight.

I think Jr. is a dangerous fight for Oscar cause Jr. got a lot of fire in him and against Oscar he knows how big a win that would be. But at 154 Oscar could still beat him, but more likely it would be alot like Oscar-JCC except reverse. I think Oscar is way past it, but the Pac fight was really Oscar at his worst physically and mentally imo. I dont think he will ever look that bad again, Pac being so fast only made matters worse. I slightly favor JR. but I wouldnt be surprised at 154 if Oscar looked strong and more energetic. I wouldnt mind seeing this fight. If Oscar could manage a win, it would be a great way to end his career.

My personal worst nightmare... two fighters I'm dying to see get KTFO'ed. Good time for a double KO, "TV Funniest Videos" style.

I dont see that much heat from chavez jr. He's been carried his whole career. Evertime I see him on T.V. he's fighting what looks to be some farm boy that took the fight on a 30 minute notice. Oscar is still good and has fought the best in the world. If chavez wants some retribution he needs to wait because he's gonna suffer a loss to Oscar right now.

    Like Matt Vanda?

I agree, I think Oscar @ 154 (not killing himself to make 147) should still have enough left for Jr.

I would make JCCJr a live underdog against ODLH. ODLH will look much better because he won't be weight drained and overtrained but JCCJr can take a shot and is a big guy that punishes the body. He's got a shot. This fight is probably the only fight that I could tolerate seeing ODLH fighting in again.

I think at 154 Oscar is still a good fighter. 147 was just too much for him to deal with. I'm not a fan of JCC Jr. and think he's such a babied fighter. Even though De La Hoya is at the end of his career, he has way more than enough to slap around the protected Chavez Jr.

Oscar just got beaten and battered so rooting for Oscar this time means you get to see two people you hate get beat in consecutive fights...

Oscar would dominate chavez jr. Do people think this is a fight because Oscar got domintated by manny? Oscar got destroyed by manny because manny is probably the best fighter of this decade, not becuase Oscar didnt have anything left. Oscar would wipe the floor with that kid. No question about it. Take it to the bank

This is a good fight for Oscar, say what you want about him but he deserves to go out with a better showing and surely he has enough to look good versus JCC Jr plus it would be at the correct weight division for Oscar. Would be quite a scene too to see 100K in the same building again.

Like you guys have said, this is a better weight for Oscar, but I question whether Jr. would make weight. Jr has a reputation for being lazy during training, and he did not make weight for his last fight against Vanda. Well he didn't make weight for their orginal agreed upon weight, they had to come to an agreement to raise the weight limit, 2 days before the fight, since they knew that Jr wasn't going to make it. He made the adjusted weight.

In their first fight Vanda did have Jr hurt a few times, and Vanda can't possibly be compared to Oscar, well a properly trained and conditioned Oscar, so I can see Oscar winning this one.

The more I thin about it, the more interesting it is. Oscar will have fought two generations of Mayweathers and two generatios of Chavezs. It could actually be a good fight and a potentially good showing from either guy. I think there would be a real public interest in it because of the storyline. Huge step up for Jr. and perfect end to Oscars career if he wins.

I would be heartbroken if ODLH beat Chavez Jr. Here we have ODLH beating an old passed-his-prime Julio Cesar Chavez. Years later, he comes and beats his son. Ouch! Both, father and son beaten by the same man, not good, nooooot good. If Chavez Jr. won, no matter how much I root for him, I wouldn't get THAT excited about his victory and wouldn't blind myself like many Pac Fans and ODLH haters from the fact that ODLH was old, passed his prime, worned out, out of gas, etc. All I know it is that having ODLH in his resume would be nice. Any guy out there would love to have ODLH in their resume regardless of his condition now. If Chavez Jr. beat ODLH at least 5 years ago then yeah, that would be quite something.
I wish Chavez Jr. had an amateur career, olympic and jr. olympic exposure, etc. If that was so, we would already see him facing top quality opposition. As for now, all we are seeing is an "amateur" who is facing guys that double or triple his experience, not bad if you think about it.

Didn't some people ask these questions about his fight with Manny?
