    Default pacquiao??

Does anybody else doubt that Pacquiao still might be questionable at moving up in weight? I mean im a big pacman fan and i give him credit for crushing Oscar, but i just am still not convinced. Dela Hoya didnt fight back at all in that fight and from the start he was just not doing what he was known for. I didnt see any opposition in the fight or any hard shots landed by oscar to test Pacquiao's chin. Oscar even came in lighter then Pacquiao at fight night giving up a huge advantage.

Anyway i hope Pacquiao dominates and hope my doubts are proven wrong

Hatton will check that chin and we'll find out if his body can take a beating too

i think his performance vs odlh was awesome, i think alot of it had to do with oscar bein weight drained tho. takin nothin away from manny, against a live 147 er e.g cotto, margo think it would be a different story.the hatton fight should show us a bit more on the comin up in weight shiit. hatton shoud test him

I think going up in weight actually helps the fast puncher types. If you look at guys like Roy Joens Jr who when he went up to LHW, he could still hit hard enough to hurt his opponents, but his speed was way too much for them. I think defensive guys like Mayweather it doesn't help that much because he doesn't overwhelm opponents with his speed unless they are people like Arturo Gatti. In Pacquiao's case, a guy who hits hard and uses his speed so well, the slower his opponents the less he gets hit, definitely the better for him.

Manny Pac should have stayed at the lower weights, he will be destroyed by Hatton.

I must say Mannys a proper buzz saw, its a very impressive and pleasing on the eye style that he has, but because he throws in bunches he is thier for the counter if you are quick enough or can time him. Ricky seems to have hit it off with Floyd Snr and will be training in California from eight weeks out at Altitude for six weeks, he has been doing light training (keeping the weight down) already, so when he meets up with Floyd he will be ready to learn and listen. Mannys victorys over Dias and Oscar impressive though they were, he hardly took a flush shot so the jury is out on his toughness at 140, he has been badly stunned in the past and slipped off the hook, Ricky wont let him off the hook not with Floyd pulling the strings, now there is going to be some method to the madness.

Manny at 140 IMO will not be bad off...I think it will benefit him on the weight cutting issue for sure...He just has to keep in shape not get in shape to make weight comfortably...There are guys at 140 I would say hits a lot less hard then Pacquiao...Yet not with the output or speed...People will be surprised at how easily he makes the adjustment and if for some rerason he can't well he can drop back down to his comfort zone again

I know he doesn't have the power behind his punches that some guys do at 140 or 147, but maybe it is how hard he closes his hand or something, but he seems to bust guys up, you wouldn't expect him to. He definitely fast, but his power bothered Oscar, and that surprised me because you would have to go way back to see the last time Oscar was rocked by a shot upstairs. Mayweather and Hopkins hurt Oscar to the body, but Pacquiao hurt him upstairs, I think he never seriously hurt Oscar to the body, but he knocked some of the wind out of Oscar's sails with body shots.

Much of that can be the old "With speed comes power" addage or "The shot that hurts most is the one you don't see coming"

Pac is more vicious at higher weight class coz he doesn't give his opponent the merciful one-punch knock out. He slowly torture them and get the KO win. Just ask Diaz or DLH. Next victim is Hatton.

    Red face Re: pacquiao??

but we can't take away the fact that Hatton will surely prepare for this fight and will definitely give Pacman a real good fight (compared to the previous match). now we will see another real exciting fight. wee...

He is a genetic freak. you can't really call it the 'extra' weight. because when he added those pounds he pack on muscles on his massive calves and his back. thus making his legs more stable and explosive. and thats where the power comes from. it's called kinetic linking. unlike most guys who moved up in weight u see them with bigger arms, chest and often a flabby stomach. with Pac he has adjusted very well by packing those muscles on the right places. I think his chin isn't a suspect. Marquez hits hard. Morales hits hard. and so is Barrera. they may not be as physically imposing and as brute as Ricky but if we're talking about punching power they arent really significant differences. Now IMO the key here for Ricky is to 'bully' Pac. Not to knock him out with a single punch.

I agree. Ricky has a higher chance of winning if he bullies Pac. If he goes to KO pac, Ricky will go down way worse than Diaz.

i think in every fight that Pacman is involved in, he keeps on learning new tricks and in this fight with Hatton, he will definitely have something to show to us to adjust with the "bully" if in case this will be Hitman's style. I am really excited now. The Clash of the Titans!

Yeah, he hasnt beaten an elite caliber fighter since he fought at 130. Diaz was a tough fighter, but not as skilled as hatton. And Oscar was only a shell and really didnt/couldnt test Manny. Hatton is going to be Mannys toughest fight since JMM but it will be a totally different kind of tough. Pac only gets stronger as the fight goes on if he is in a rythm. I think Hatton will keep him off balance and ait for him to make more mistakes as the fight goes on. I think Hatton will stop Manny around the 8th or 9th in a sudden fashion. Likely a body shot.
