Unhappy enzo maccarinelli v ramirez ( is warren serious)

no disrespect to enzo, but is this the best frank warren can come up with as a eliminator for the WBO title, a boxer not even in the top ten of the cruiserweight division, i feel the paying fans are being taken for mugs.

To be fair, & I'm no big fan of Warren, but I think they did try to get both Jonathon Banks & Steve Cunningham, but just couldn't agree a deal or something like that

Jones & Fragomeni already have belts, so are not in any rush to fight for the WBO belt. Ramirez is ranked #7 by the WBO, so I'm guessing they pushed him for the shot. Flores is ranked lower. Personally I would much rather have seen Maccarinelli fight Herbie Hide or Alekseev for it if they couldn't get Banks or Cunningham, but what can you do?

Ramirez is Interim WBO champ, so this fight would have to take place sooner or later. Not a joke really, 3 times opponents pulled out against Enzo and its starting to get a bit frustrating for him so at least Warren has pinned down Ramirez with ample notice. He seems underrated anyways, still can't believe he stopped Alexeev.

To be fair, Warren tried to get Banks but he jumped ship and is now taking on Adamek for the IBF/Ring titles whereas Ramirez just upset Alexeev for the WBO interim belt. Had Alexeev won he would have faced Maccarinelli for the full title but since he lost Enzo ends up with Ramirez.

I think it's a decent fight, seeing as Ramirez made Alexeev quit on his stool last week he's decent opposition. This guy is strong with good power and certainly comes to win.

Also a puncher. Last time Maccarinelli went in with a puncher he was starched in 2 rounds so this is by no means a gimme.

As has been said - considering Ramirez just stopped Alexeev it looks a decent fight. Certainly a top undercard fight to Khan-Barrera.

Shame Enzo couldn't fight the higher profiles of Banks or Cunningham though.
