What he did as a Cruiserweight means nothing at Heavyweight. Michael Moorer use to crush fools as a Light Heavyweight. Evander Holyfield would destroy Cruiserweights. Neither one was a wrecking machine as a Heavyweight. And Haye is nothing close to being a Holyfield or Moorer.
i dont know if haye has ever tasted a power of a heavyweight and we are talking about wlad and not just any heavyweight here. he will be in for a surprise.
"speed is the essence of war"
sun tzu-art of war
Quite true sir, I question Haye's ability to beat these guys (much less take their punches): Sultan Ibragimov, Cris Arreola, Alexander Dimitrenko, Alexander Povetkin, Jameel McCline, Lamon Brewster, Cedric Boswell, Travis Walker.....hell if Eddie Chambers could fight 10-12 rounds (throwing punches) he'd eat Haye alive with counter shots.
haye getting ran over by a train is more likely then haye beating a klitschko.
If Wlad wasnt so fragile and didnt flounder around the ring when pressured, it wouldnt be an issue
Calvin Brock did, but haye needs to be careful to not get caught coming, its hard to go to the body against such a powerful jab that is always keeping you off balance and not able to set your stance on the inside, I know Haye did great body work against Mormeck, but Wald isn't Mormeck. I don't think Wlad has been hurt to the body, and I am sure somebody in his 50+ fights have gone to the body.
Guys ALWAYS try to hit Wlad to the body and sure he'd be vulnerable against someone who knew what the hell they were doing but all most guys land to the body are arm punches because Wlad ties them up shortly there after.
David Haye had better stick and move and tie Wlad up first if he wants to win. Calvin Brock did a good job vs Wlad but he was a tricky fighter with a strange style and Haye is just a wild puncher he offers nothing else. Haye is Wlad's chance to really get credit for a big win (despite Haye being GROSSLY under qualified but hey Obama can be President, then I guess a guy with 2 heavyweight fights can fight for 3 titles )
First off....is it just me...or is this fight doing it's very best to usurp the boxing headlines in terms of the will it-wont it nature and it does appear this finally is going to happen.
As for the actual fight itself, I reckon its got a lot of potential for excitement. Those who have fought Wlad recently haven't exactly been to spright around the ring, and I think Haye moving up a division will bring the speed and tempo that is really going to throw Klitschko Jr off his game. However, the real question is whether or not Haye can get around, or walk through the Klitschko jab. That jab is what has saved his chin, because with that huge reach there is only speed or resilience that will allow a boxer to get past the jab, and I;m not sure Haye has either of those.
Despite Klitschko's current record, if he beats Haye I think it will be more of a surprise to me than to most.
Gwan davey boy.
Been saying for ages that i really Fancy David to beat him by early KO.
To be fair it's his only chance as Wlad will end up manhandling him and walking him around the ring which will just sap Hayes power and suspect Stamina.
He needs to throw bombs early on and unsettle Wlad and crack onto his weak chin and then apply mad pressure and get all over him with his speed.
Trust me if David can land huge shots and be first to do so he's gonna win this by KO within 5 rounds.
If it gets to the mid rounds and Wlad is still in there and has got his jab going then Haye loses.
Simple as that.
Gonna be some fight this and i'm just waiting for the OFFICIAL announcement so i can get some decent tickets....but to be honest nothing is signed yet!!
Also don't like Football grounds for fights because all the floor seats (bar the first 20 rows from ringside) offer a SHIT view and a hefty pricetag.
02 Arena would be better and i just wonder how many will come out and pay for this given Hayes lak of terrestrial tv exposure
