    Default Interview with the G-Man

I have just been posted a link to see the Berto-Collazo fight by Kel. But just as I was about to start watching I noticed something in the corner of the screen.

    It was this!

This really moved me. I remember seeing the Benn fight all them years ago and I knew he was in a bad way but I have never seen just how bad. I really think it's a shame that a once great champion ended up like this.

One thing for sure is I'll never forget Gerald McClellan

Yeah I remember watching that a while back, very sad to watch, but thats the risk you take being a prize fighter.

Certainly is but I have heard (and I don't know how true it is) that Gerald had a blood clot before the fight but the brain scan wasn't compuslory then so he went into the fight with Benn with that time bomb waiting to go off. And with the bombs he took off Benn it was bound to burst and obviously did.

If this is true then the men behind the scenes who didn't enforce scans are to blame for this man being in such a state now.

I talked to his sister 2 years ago, he has improved quite a bit from that video.. His housing situation is still pretty sad but they carry on

Wow that was difficult to watch. I haven't saw the fight but that must of been some punch from Benn. This just reminds you what a cruel and dangerous sport it is, and no boxers have visited him since? That is terrible to hear.. not even Benn? You would think Benn would of been the first to visit.

You guys talking about his dog fighting? Yeah, I never even heard about that until about a year or so ago. That part where he taped the mouth shut of one dog so it couldn't defend itself was sickening.

It wasnt a single punch, and the stage for Gerald's brain trauma was already set before that fight, he was ahead on 2 of the judges scorecards and his brain gave out

    #1 Karma is a bitch

#2 If that fight took place in the US Gerald would have won via 1st Round TKO.

#3 The ref/corner/doctor should have stopped the fight when Gerald couldn't keep his mouthguard in

.....1st round TKO.....oh well sucks to be the G-Man

I never heard this story, can you guys give me a link please.
    However it’s very sad.

Well the whole crux of the story is that he loved dog fighting and he was very cruel to dogs and did a lot of the stuff Michael Vick did to his dogs.

He'd tie up dogs and let his fighting dogs rip them apart and stuff like that.....really mature sound psychological stuff like that.

And now HE is the helpless one, and part of me wishes a fighting dog would rip into him

That video is a few years old.

Last year - might have been 2007 - Benn held a massive fundraiser for him, they flew McClellan over to London and everything

What he apparently did with them dogs was unforgiveable but it doesn't mean that he deserved this. He should have been given a hefty prison sentence and been banned from boxing. He is now suffering something that to me is worse than being dead!

Nigel Benn.... Limp, motionless, slumped into the ropes not capable of defending himself.... A spectacular 1st round Ko that never happened

Fuk that POS ref, who allowed Benn's constant rabbit punching in the back of the head and headbutts.

I get nauseous when I here people say Benn fought courageous, he was TKO'd in round 1 and cheated his ass off the rest of the fight, with a biased Ref who broke them apart numerous times to let Benn recover.. it was 2 on 1 that night

At least I can take Solace in the fact that Gerald was ahead on the cards when his body gave out in the 10th
