    Default floyd turns down Mosley....

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Turns Down Shane Mosley - Boxing News

Exactly the reason why floyd will never get the respect he thinks he deserves. Every time he has a live challenge he turns it down and goes for a vulnerable option. Coward is probably my best description of him.

He wants Pac and doesn't want Mosley. Go figure. Mosley right now is in a great position that has opened up many options and has put any fighter willing to fight him in position to make more money. floyd has no excuse besides the fact the he's just no willing to risk losing his "0".

To be fair, I don't think he's said he wants Pac, I just think he's retired and not coming back for anyone

It almost seems that way. That's why I wonder why Dan Rafael & others seem so sure Floyd will return. Are they reading or hearing something I haven't seen?

The biggest challenge is Mosley, the biggest money is Manny. If Mosley was the biggest money I think Floyd would fight him and beat him. He isn't interested in legacy, just cash. I'm certain he'll fight again and he'll fight the Hatton-Pacman winner.

Floyd is retired, he hasn't personally said anything to convince me he has any other intention but to stay retired. It's not like Hopkins or ODLH that retired and came back a bunch of times. PBF retired period. Why can't people let it go? For some reason everyone's concerned with his legacy, who cares, if he's done he's done.

Well its quite obvious you just don't like PBF. Definitely one sided and some untrue. Keep in mind Mosley is my all time favorite fighter as I write this and I am no PBF fan. I just respect and am not in denial about his skills. But I am in no way bias. I remain a true boxing fan. You have a few things you fail to point out. One, PBF is retired. Its like me going on record and saying PBF is ducking me now because he is not coming out of retirement to fight me. Two, PBF left an Oscar fight on the table to retire so I'm pretty sure he isn't ducking anyone but just wants to retire or take time off. Three, PBF offered Mosley a fight twice and was turned down once and priced out the second. But of course, PBF is the coward because now he is in retirement not fighting anyone. Fourth, PBF never said he wants Pac or any other fighter for that matter. Fifth, PBF never made any statement it is everybody else making it for him and all the fans and anti-fans mixing half truths to create whatever they wish it to be. Like this thread. Let the man retire. Like Calzaghe, Lennox Lewis, and every boxer who retire. They are not active only your mind is so lets move on.

Great champions go for the biggest challenges, not the biggest money. Floyd should have fought Mosley a couple years ago. He should have fought Margarito or Cotto a couple years ago. Margarito, Mosley, and Cotto were (are) all top guys at Welterweight. They have all fought each other. Thats what champions do. Floyd has been handling his career as delicately as a crystal wine glass since leaving Lightweight. His biggest win since then has been against an undersized Hatton. I hope he stays retired, because coming back to take on a safe, but sellabe challenge would only amout to another ppv sparring session that I think all boxing fans could do without.

i can no longer defend the guy in terms of where he stands in the all time ranks. whether he's retired or chooses to come back and fight. as it stands he not an all time great. He's on the same page as calzaghe IMO. Good fighters with great numerical numbers.

In other news, Muhammad Ali is ducking David Haye, Marvin Hagler is ducking Kelly Pavlik & Roberto Duran is ducking Pacquiao.

Seriously, people need to grow up, if a guy says he's retired than it's his business with what he does with his life. Anyone who calls Mayweather or Calzaghe or anyone who has chosen to quit a coward is an embarassment. These guys have earned enough for life, & now that they no longer want to put themselves through physical pain & endurance, there are muppets on the internet who think that they are in some kind of position to judge. You don't rate him as a boxer & a person, fine, but the only kind of person who calls a boxer a coward for wanting to enjoy their life is someone who has probably never been in a ring. The only cowards are people like Luis Resto who cannot trust in their own ability to win a fight.

Mayweather is not ducking Mosley or Pacquiao. Calzaghe is not ducking Froch or Dawson. Why because they're RETIRED. The second that one of them comes back, but refuses to fight one of these guys than fine, you can they're ducking them, but until then it's just hot air.

I agree with that. Id say where ever they stand on the ATG rankings, they should be close...and neither too close to the top

Well the Manny/Hatton winner will have options. Maybe ask Floyd & if he still says no, then turn to Shane. Not a bad fight there either way.

It happens everytime in boxing history when a dominating almost-perfect boxer retires "Oh, he should have fought X...If he fought X he would loose...He's retiring because he's afraid of the opposition..." and so on.

Even though i would love to see this fight, Mayweather has retired.

Its not like he is looking into other fights.
