pac wont let that happen, pac will dart in and out and will not let hatton come close. hatton beaing hatton will go pushing on but a bunch of punches will greet hatton on the way in. thats why he got koed by mayweather.

btw the last time ive seen pac being punched in the body pac just went berserk and kod the opponent.
He lost his compurser in the Mayweather fight that that resulted in him been ko'ed i think Hatton would of lost by UD if he hadnt of got piss**d off and lost his head look at the first 3rounds he did ok.

If Hatton lands a body shot on Manny he will feel it and who's to say he wont go down he has never been in with anyone as strong as Hatton or as bigger puncher. If Hatton can get to the body it will slow Manny down if he can take them.
I do think Hatton would've got KO'd by Mayweather regardless because when he first came into the ring I remember thinking he looked edgy beyond belief, and I think something would've eventually made him lost his composure. It will be interesting to see if the same happens again or whether Hatton learns from the experience and is able to be a bit more relaxed.

Although I originally favoured Pacquiao & still do so, I do also have a suspicion that if the right Ricky turns up than he is more likely to put a beating on Pacquiao than vice-versa. People seem to use the argument that Pac KO'd ODLH, who Mayweather couldn't but KO'd Hatton as evidence Hatton will get battered. However, this ignores all logical rationale taking in factors like weight drain, an extra 18 months of age & the fact that Mayweather will obviously have greater p4p power against a light-welter than a natural light middleweight (although NO size differences excuses, they were basically both blown up light-welters, in PBF's case maybe even lightweight). Also many Pac-fans seem to say the fact Hatton couldn't KO Collazo & PBF shows his power is not that great. On this I disagree as no fighter has legitamately got a KD on Mayweather & both Berto & Mosley (big punchers at 147) couldn't knockdown Collazo. I think anyone who thinks that Pacquiao will have dealt with power like Hatton's before will be in for a shock come May 2. That is not to say he might not find a way to deal with it, but Hatton's power at 140 is something especially when you think guys with good chins like Tszyu & Malignaggi struggled with it, & Castillo was finished by it (even if he was close to shot by that point)

I think Manny will win. Hatton is more natural at the weight, but he gets hit way too much. He's like a modern day Tony Sibson. Great body punching and aggression, but porous defense. I think Manny will stop him on cuts. Also, Hatton beat a faded Kostya Tszu and Castillo. Malligani had no power to hurt Hatton. Manny is not faded and has tremendous power. Hatton should take his payday and retire after this fight.

    Welcome aboard. And I agree.

I will just base this fight on their last 2 performances. I think Hatton do get a lot, and if Mallinaggi damaged his face in 1st round, Pac will inflict 10 times more.

The deteriorating Hatton will go down from accumulation from Pac's punches.

Ricky Hatton ain't no David "Stand still and hit me" Diaz or washed up Oscar De La Hoya. It's ok saying Pac is fast, but will he hit Hatton all night long ? No way, Hatton has a a good defense. Especially with Mayweather Sr working with him.

He's the best you can get. Hatton's footwork is underrated. Paulie Malignaggi was a slick, fast fighter, yet he crumbled due to Hatton's relentless pressure. If Pac or his fans think this will be easy, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. Pac hasn't fought at 140. Ricky has fought there his whole career. Ricky can box and brawl. His jab is a thing of beauty, he picked Malignaggi off with it all night long.

If anybodys getting "Destroyed" it certainly isn't Ricky Hatton. I can tell you that right now.

Hatton supporters are heavily relying on Hatton to land that vaunted left hook to the body like what he did to Jose Luis Castillo... but look at how PAC beat to the punch those boxers attempting to land that left hook to the body...

    ............ ..............

    ..... .....

Hatton supporters (or Team Hatton itself) must be very worried about this... I think Hatton will be in for the worst beating in his life...

BTW, to threadstarter, I like your originality... and it's more fun if there's should have been a poll accompanying your question...

I think Pac Man hasnt recieved much of a beating throughout his career
Yes he has. His losses come from KO/TKO, look how he ended up in both fights vs JMM (both being questionable decisions), his clear lose vs EM, etc.
the last time ive seen pac being punched in the body pac just went berserk and kod the opponent
I remember something different. When he fought JMM 2, he got hit in the body a couple of times but it was specially on round 8 or 9 where he clearly looked hurt and tired.

Pac is exciting, no doubt. But as you pointed out, Pac does lose rounds and you can make a good case for Marquez in both their fights and of course Morales showed how it could be done and actually get the nod.

People are reading WAAAAYYYY too much into Pac against Oscar and forgetting how Marquez did against him a year ago and also how Barrera too was able to take rounds whenever he decided to actually throw something.

    - In 2006 Hatton went over to america and in his first outing stateside became a 2 weight world champion out pointing Luis Collazo knocking him down in the 1st 30 seconds of the fight. Collazo beat the shiit out of Hatton and was robbed of his title

    - In 2007 Hatton destroyed a legend when he demolished Jose Luis Castillo inside 4 rounds with what is described as the most brutal body punch seen in boxing today. Castillo was already shot and fighting outside his best weight class

    - In 2008 Hatton saw off the number 1 contender at 140pounds and the very man who had given the great miguel cotto one hell of a scare by destroying his man inside 11rounds to become the universally recognised 140pound king That Cotto fight was one-sided. Cotto ruined him

    - On May 2nd 2009, do you think hatton will inflict the worst ever beating on little manny pacquiao and force all his slightly gay fanbase into withdrawal and possible suicide for those americans who just love to knock a good british fighter down? Both fanbases are fukking gay
That should clear up your bold face lies

I think a Hatton win depends a lot on the leniancy of the ref. This is not a dig at Hatton its just he has had his best results when the ref allows him to get away with certain things. E.g holding and punching low.

If the ref breaks up the clinches quickly, and allows Pac to fight on the outside a lot then Ricky is in trouble.

I don't think we will see Hatton using his punch and hold tactic, if the Malignaggi fight is anything to go off Mayweather Snr is taking him away from that style and is getting him back to boxing. I think this bout has too many variables to predict a winner.. I'm just so pissed off it's so far away, the suspension is killing me, and coming onto this forum to debate about it makes it worse.

If Hatton fails to KO Pac in 3 rounds, then it'd be a long excruciating night for him.
When was the last time Pacquiao fought someone who wasnt shot?
JMM tied the first fight beign knocked down 3 times in one round
The second fight could be argued either way.

Can't you say the same thing about Hatton? Castillo and Lazcano were shot. Collazo beat the shiit out of him and got robbed. Cotto ruined Malignaggi. Urango is as one-dimensional as can get. And the other guy made him spear the ring post.

Morales put up more of a fight than Castillo did. Diaz got steamrolled. But it wasn't from lack of trying. He certainly put up more of an effort than Malignaggi did. Oscar was just old.

Barrera I, Erik Morales II..no way a 'shot' fighter would last a war that long. Barrera was the king then. and I don't think Erik was shot..he looked sharp early and was leading in the cards. but it's no secret that he is starting to have his troubles making 130. he fought at 135 before that and he look flabby and slow. thus, it meant he still belongs at 130 by then. You only say a fighter is shot when his chin starts to fail him. His skills have been missing significantly. On the 3rd fight with Pac,,this I can say he is shot. But...wheew. He showed up a bit against Diaz. sadly he got robbed. I miss the guy fighting. was never in a boring fight.
