Thread: Gpunching question for the experts :)

Hey guys been a long time since I posted, forgot my password and became a "lurker".

Anyways I've had a few niggling questions about setting up certain punches for some time now and I'd be grateful if you could help clear it up.

1) When throwing the straight right is the movement initiated by a twist of the hips immediatley followed by a pivoting of the right foot OR the right foot pivoting then the hips? My instinct tells my waist/obliques follwed by foot pivot but I'm not 100%.


I have a few others but I'll wait and see if the answer to this clears them up, many thanks.

Yeah thanks mate, I went through a period of throwing the left hook "from the back foot", in other words, my back heel hit the floor after my front foot had performed the "cigarette crushing" movement. It made the punch much weaker.

Funny how subtle things like this make a big difference.
