Default Marco Antonio Barrera interview, interesting angle

Interview with Marco Antonio Barrera, very impressive, not normally a fan of this journalist as he spends too much time on Calzaghe's dick for my liking, but this is good. Interesting too hear how Barrera feels about his country, & would be interested to hear Mexicans views on what he says. Also I like what he says about Khan at the end, I know the guy gets a hard time on here, but I've been impressed by the awe when he talks about Barrera, & I think its nice that MAB doesn't just dismiss him as a nobody or somethin like that.

    Anyway here's the link, enjoy!

    Interesting read, thanks for that.

I hope Barrera does what he does best and gets the win. Khan isn't in Barrera's league really, but Barrera is an older man fighting beyond his usual weight. I hope he feels his way in for a round or two and then turns stalker on Khan. Barrera needs to let Khan know he's in a war fairly early on.

Don't know about Kevin Mitchell being on Calzaghe's nuts but he regularly writes interesting boxing pieces IMO.

Hopefully it's NOT a clean and quick finish to a wonderful career.

Not a bad article. I don't mind Kevin mitchell atall, he wrote a very good book in "War, Baby" which looks at the violence on show on the night of Benn vs Mcclellan. Damn good book if anyone likes a good boxing read and hasn't read it.

"By the time I was Khan's age I had made six defenses of my world title and beaten some great fighters. But all I hear about Khan is that he is still a young kid even if he is 22,"

    Daily Mirror quote.

Damn right. Khan won a silver medal, Khan's only 22, blah, blah, blah.

I've heard that's a good book, I guess my problem with him is more down to his ridiculous hero worship of Joe, moreover that a few weeks ago he suggested that Joe would have beaten Sugar Ray Robinson any time they fought which just wound me right up & the fact that at least once every 3 months he goes on about boxing dying at the hands of UFC, which while I'm not a fan of, he compares EVERY time to a pub brawl. I guess its those things that piss me off, I'll admit his writing style is very good, so I'd probably like him if it werent for the SaddoBoxer-esque articles about Calzaghe & goin on about boxing dying.
