Mia St. John kept the bullrushing Brooke Dierdorff at bay for the first two rounds by boxing well. In the third round, Dierdorff resorted to body checking to get past St. John's jabs. Dierdorff used headbutts, one of her common weapons and criticized by several of her opponents, to damage the left side of St. John's face. St. John needed stitches.

The referee issued only one headbutt warning to Dierdorff but St. John was already cut. The referee did not have control of the fight.

Dierdorff is the dirtiest fighter in women's boxing and why she continues to get fights is beyond comprehension.
