I just finished watching the new Tyson documentary.
I'm giving it;
I thought it was great and it just sucked me right in. It was very in your face and just raw Mike just sits there and just speaks his mind. At times I found myself with my mouth open and or just shaking my head because just when you think you know all about Mike and you've heard it all he goes and opens his mouth.
Through the film, I felt compasion, sorrow, surprised and in the end I was smiling and happy for him. I think I've seen every Mike documentary out there but this is the most raw in your face. This takes you more into the mind of Mike and he just talks more in depth about certain situations that I'm sure all of us have been wanting to know more about.
The way he really expresses himself about Cus and how he just says it raw eventhough it's Cus he just takes you back to the days of when he 1st met him and what he really was thinking at that time and how he felt.
I strongly recommend it to anyone, not just to boxing fans but anyone who knows about Mike and is familiar with him and his life. Some side notes from the film that I thought I'd share.
- Tysons 1st boxing instructor was Bobby Stewart
- Tyson fought with gonorreah vs. Berbick... "I had sex but it must have been a prostitute or a really filthy girl because I contracted gonorreah but I can't even remember who it was... I was embarassed to go to the doctor I just had to endure the pain. The gonorreah didn't bother me"
- "I never took advantage of her, I might have tooken advantage of other women but not her." (On Kerri Washington)
- "He would kill his mother for a dollar" (On Don King)
