Default Allan Green calls out Chad Dawson

Green targets Dawson! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7

Looks like he wants it at 168 if Dawson moves down. What do you guys think?

I think that Dawson would drain himself to make 168 but it would be worth the risk because at the end of the day he would still go home the Light Heavyweight champion.

It's a good match up but Dawson seems to get complacent in fights and fade late, Green has shown his ability to get complacent but he doesn't seem to have that fading issue that Dawson has. Dawson can beat anyone in boxing for 6 rounds, and then he starts to fade. Green seems the type who in his mind is already great so he fights with that kind of confidence but at the same time doesn't waste his punches too much. While Dawson will be a throwing masterpiece for 6 rounds, it leaves after that.

Dawson doesn't seem a one punch guy but Green seems to have one punch power in his left hand.

This is a fight I'd love to see. It's not like anything is happening at Light Heavyweight atm.

Green is an idiot. Even if he did have an opportunity to fight Dawson, he would immediately price himself out of the fight like he did with Pavlik, and more recently Bute.

I know everyone hates him but i think green is a lot better than he's given credit for. He isn't the greatest of all time but he isn't garbage. He wouldn't beat dawson though. But at the least he's willing to fight anyone right now......if this guy would have shown up for the fights he did have maybe he'd be getting the fights he wants to show up for now.

maybe Chad would take it but he has no real reason to respond to Green calling him out, Green has no leverage, Dawson is on another level completely.

I completely agree. Green had one off night, which may or may not have been due to sickness, and people wrote him off. In his last fight, he wasn't looking at his feet either. I give him a shot against any of the top dogs at 168. He should target Sakio Bika. Given their interest in the division, I'm sure Showtime would pick it up and Green would get a strap if he won.

Allan Green was nearly unwatchable in fights against Rubin Williams, Emmit Linton and in his loss versus Edison Miranda. One bad night is a cooked excuse by him and why would Dawson ever want to go to 168 to fight, of all people, Allan Green? This seems so stupid. Vacate the light heavyweight strap, move down in weight to fight Allan Green in a 50/50 split purse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

I think Bad Chad is running out of options at light heavy.
Hopkins would want him to fight for pittens
Jones is too far past it,to be worthwhile

I don't think he wants anything more to do with Glen Johnson although its probably the best fight available

I really enjoy watching Dawson, I wish he would just give Glen Johnson a rematch and win convincingly. that would definitely quiet down the nay sayers.

I think it's more of people knowing th guy is good and seems to have staled in his career and hasn't lived up to his own hype. He is good but between the colon cleansing he had and his incessant foot fetish people have tired of him.

I don't think Green is even in a position to be calling out Dawson when there are other guys he needs to be fighting in the SMW div. I also think he would be biting off more than he can chew unless he comes in 100% focused; anything less and he gets schooled by Dawson pretty handily.

Personally I would love to see Dawson be able to make 168 as that division would just be a full as a tick on a hound

Allan Green doesn't seem to have that fading issue ? he went down twice in the last round against Edison Miranda. What would you call that ? Plus how can you tell anyway ? Allan Green has only gone 10 rounds and he's only gone 10 rounds with two decent fighters not any elite fighters not even close, and in one of those fights he went down twice in the last round. Allan Green hasn't done anything in ages this fight would be a waste of time and it would make Chad Dawson even weaker.

There's plenty of fights at Light Heavyweight to be made.

Chad Dawson vs Glen Johnson 2
    Chad Dawson vs Tavoris Cloud
    Chad Dawson vs Adrian Diaconu
    Chad Dawson vs Danny Green

Any of these fights are better than a fight with Allan Green at 168.

Allan Green wasn't looking at his feet in his last fight.

The odds have favor Allan if he fought Miranda again. Because I'm a fan, I chalk up that loss to illness. Look at it this way: Who do you know who has gotten up from two Miranda knock downs? That's actually quite an accomplishment especially if you consider he later had 98% of his colon removed. At least he took the fight when sick.

But, I have to agree, I don't see why Dawson would take a Green fight now. Decent risk and he doesn't bring money to the table. Considering he isn't willing to fight Johnson, Dawson should fight the winner of the Diaconu/Pascal fight at the Bell Center in Montreal.

Green is in a similar position to Ward - Fighters on the cusp at 168. I don't understand why each doesn't challenge Bika, a win at least gets them a belt. And Bika is more recognizable to the american public than Balzay. I bet showtime would pick it up.

I have to agree with ICB DAWSON VS CLOUD biggest match-up in the Lightheavies now. A classic battle of the boxer vs the puncher.

Those are good fights, but.................Dawson has publically stated he doesn't want to rematch Johnson. Diaconu is fighting Pascal the result and manner of that fight will greatly impact the negotiations of that. Danny Green well is he here to stay or not? I can't say, he may need another two years off. Cloud is great but again he doesn't seem willing to make fights.

Dawson wouldn't need to vacate to fight Green since he just satisfied his mandatory by winning over Tarver the second time.

Are there better fights, sure. Are any of those fights likely to be made is the bigger question.

I say why not, Allan Green is a semi-recognizable name and gets Dawson's foot in the door in a division he stated to have an interest in.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
