    Thumbs up Re: Al Bernstein On Boxing: Perception vs. Reality

    Always liked Al as well - he's like a good old friend who likes boxing too.

    Al Bernstein is THE MAN!!! He doesn't carry the water for anybody, he gives good insight in commentary, and he's got a likeable personality. Great news, welcome to the forum Al!

    Whoa! this is great news.

    Al correct me if I'm wrong or I have the story mixed up. But you landed on ESPN by one of those "Oppourtunity meets prepartion" moments right?

    I remember reading about how the Hit Man Hearns was to be the commentator for ESPN but was a no show and you filled in. Then for the next show instead of waiting to see if the Hit Man would show they just hired you up front?

    Which is when you called the fight between Lee vs. LoCicero...
    Is this correct?

    If so, that's a great story second week on the job and you call that fight...

    As for your colum, I agree with most of it minus the Angulo bit cause I don't think he will be a superstar. I could just be going with the flow of his last 2 performances but he looks very beatable to me. I sat ringside for his fight vs. Tsurkan and I was not impressed at all looked tired early on was a bit slapish with his punches and just looked flat for me.

    I think on your list I would add;
    Arce vs. Darchinyan
