Punch Power: 1626 | | Re: Al Bernstein On Boxing: Perception vs. Reality +1168 nice find for the site, welcome Al
boxing's on a bit of an upswing IMO, great fights are being made and it at least seems to me that the sport has gotten more mainstream attention since the Hatton-Pacquaio fight.
As far as Angulo goes I think he won't be able to cut it at the really elite level but he'll probably win a title and he'll be fine against Cintron. |

Punch Power: 0 | | Re: Al Bernstein On Boxing: Perception vs. Reality I have enjoyed Al Bernstein's coverage on boxing for years. I look forward to listening to his analysis of fights just as much as the fights itself on Showtime. Living in a world with a lot of distortion from the facts, Al Bernstein keeps it simple and is very objective. He is extremely well informed and gives a perspective that not only die-hard fight fans can appreciate, but even a casual sports fan can value!

Punch Power: 1457 | | Re: Al Bernstein On Boxing: Perception vs. Reality Fantastic to have you here Al.
I agree with you regarding the excitement factor around the current crop of fighters. Not often through history have been seen numerous potential future hall of famers plying their trade in the same division at the same time. We had the Heavyweights of the early seventies and my favourite era of Hagler Hearns Leonard and Duran. But looking at the current Welterweight division we have Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao (if he decides to fight at 147) the return of Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto and Paul Williams should he decide to drop back down. There are some mouthwatering matchups in there - let's just hope they get made!! |

Punch Power: 75 | | Re: Al Bernstein On Boxing: Perception vs. Reality +1170 Excellent piece of news and a great addition to the site, was watchin Al last night funnily enough on some fights I transferred from VHS to DVD, even looking at back at fights it was great to see Al's enthusiasm even though he knew the results and had seen them probably 100 times.
Welcome aboard. |
