You're thinking of Anne Wolf after taking out Vonda Ward. She was doing the pelvic thrust while Ward was getting oxygen.

Yeah that's the one killersheep, it was a good KO I remember that, devastating in fact but the way she acted was terrible to watch.

You can't stop a victor from celebrating, it is by nature a reflexive and instinctive reaction.

Having said that, there are many ways and many levels of this exercise that can be viewed as excessive. In this, as per the case on hand, I would say it as justified and none of the callous variety as insinuated.

When the celebratory actions were made, the extent and severity of the KO have yet to fully manifest itself . And when done so, it was only as a "reaction", and only a short and brief exclaim then afterwards a prayer. This was on top of Manny Pacquiao's prayers in every pre-fight for the safety and deliverance of them both.

To see this as anything else, as a slight or an insensitive display of behavior is parallel to seeing beyond what is really there.

We should know better!

I agree with most of the posts so far.. KO'ing your opponent is the ultimate victory..

They stepped in the ring knowing that they could be knocked out cold, it's not like KO'ing someone is something that rarely happens in boxing..

With that said, most boxers have enough class to show some attention to the opponent that they just knocked out shortly after their celebration.

I'm relieved to see some of the posts and agree with most of them. C'mon... fighters are going 100 miles an hour in there, trying their hardest to do just that... KTFO the other guy. To ask them to instantly stop all celebrations to tend to the other guy is unreasonable. But once the initial euphoria subsides, and it's clear that the other guy is still out... yeah, it's not only good sportsmanship, but common human decency to show some genuine concern.

Look; I'm just a fan. I get amped up waiting months for a fight; so when a fighter I root for KTFO the other guy I'm doing cartwheels around my house. That's just from a observationists point of view. Now I can't imagine how it must feel to be the guy who trained like a maniac and gets the ko; too much adrenaline and relief and pride to just shut all that down and expect him to want to hold the guy's hand who is sleeping on the canvas. This combat, not knitting competition.

Wit that said; I think any decent human will calm down after a minute and could show some concern. I worry more about it when a guy takes a sustained beating and the fight has to be stopped. Kind of like Oscar Diaz getting brutalized by Delvin Rodriguez. I wouldn't celebrate knowing the other guy was like that.

absolutly not !!!! After the sometimes two to three weeks these guys spend shadowboxing, talking shit, showing off thier bling, families, cars, where they hang out at, threating the opponet blah blah etc....when they get ko'ed (when half the time the only reason people watch is to see it) they shoud black out the arena play soft barney re-runs on the monitior and swiftly before the fighters head lands on a soft pillow slid under his head by the ref immediatly after the blow be rushed out under the cover of darkness where he can heal

Meh, this is a sport where we celebrate and encourage people to knock other people out cold. Knocking someone unconscious is THE BEST thing you can do in this sport, so How can we tell them not to celebrate it?

I've seen a lot of celebrations that I thought were very tasteless (Ann Wolfe after her brutal KO of Vonda Ward comes to mind), but thats the name of the game.
