1.Hatton has great stamina.
2. Hatton has pretty good punch power , especially to the body.
3. He has pretty good boxing skills.
4. Is a good pressure fighter.
5. Good strength at 140 lbs.
So from all these ingredients i can only come to the conclusion that since stepping up in class , he has grabbed and held more because maybe his chin is not his strongest part of his makeup.
Im not saying he has a glass jaw , im just saying pressure fighters like Chavez etc. if being outboxed a bit tended to really up the prssure and take a few to land a few.
Is Ricky scared of being cut or his chin failing him ?
He really looked brilliant at a slightly lower level , when he bullied and pushed his oponants back.
So come on guys and girls tell me your feelings on this. |
Yeah he has really great ingredient as well as raw desire!Of couse he looks and plays the part brilliant at his natural 140lb weight. The fact he holds onto other fighters in the 147lb weight most proberly comes from the fact that he is up soo close to his opponant due to the fact that he fights on the inside on 9 out of 10 of his fights. What you mentioned about the fact that he could be afraid of getting clocked on the button(Chin)in relation on him holding on to his 147lb opponants is the a factor that the opponants he fought on the 147lb HBO 3fight Contract are all inside heavy handed fighters.I dont think it was the fact on being such a weight problem..just fail-safe tactics on a different weight division.Holding is not neccessarly a sign of weight problem....just tactics when there needed!
