Default Very good Friday night for boxing

Diaconu vs Paschal 9 Eastern on Versus. Versus doing some good stuff although they're a bit inconsistent.

Monty Meza Clay vs Fernando Beltran at 10 eastern on ESPN2

I'll go with Diaconu TKO and Meza Clay by decision.

Meza Clay did get stopped his last time out vs Jorge Solis, if it sounds familiar he fought Pacquiao.

Bit of a funny delayed reaction. I think he was defending himself but he wasn't throwing back obviously.

    Good night for fights indeed.

I'll miss the first part of FNF, since I would rather watch the Versus card, but I'll flip over in between rounds, and fights.

    I thought it was a pre-mature stoppage

Pascal-Diaconu lives on a lot of promises, if it's as high as the expectations, it'll be a kick ass friday night!

He was alright, talking to the ref at speed and looking clearly at him, seemed relaxed in his defence not out of it or desperate. I agree

I think it was a bit quick too

Didn't see the rest of the fight so I don't know if he'd been hurt earlier or taking a lot of punches or anything.

But he was slipping some of the punches and clearly wasn't totally out of it.

Ok were about to start the Versus card. Looking good.

And Troy Ross, the contender winner who seems like he can crack a bit against Michael Simms.

Unfortunately we have to listen to Wally Matthews or whatever his name is.

First round definitely goes to Ross. He had that nice left, and he's working the body nicely.

Ross 1-0 , bodyshots and a pretty good left hand.

Simms is definitely a survivor, every time I've seen him he's been competent enough and stayed in the fight but its usually not enough.

Ross 2-0, winning the fight with the right hand to the body alone, I'd use it even more, its there all day and Simms doesn't really attempt to counter it.

Ross again. Simms just isn't throwing enough.

Seems like the Versus crew might have given that one to Simms but I don't agree. 3-0 Ross.
