Demetrius Hopkins, who is supposed to be on the undercard tomorrow, just was arrested here in the hotel and led out. The reason is for owing $16,000 in back child support payments.

His manager, Cameron Dunkin, just told me the woman he owed the money to was already supposed to get $6,000 from his purse tomorrow and then the rest after the next fight. I guess it didn't work out that way.

Clearly arresting him after the fight would make more sense if they want their money...they just wanted to make a show out of it, lousy cops.

Cameron Dunkin says they are going to get Hopkins out and he will probably be able to fight. They are going through the paperwork and if the judge allows it, he would fight and his debt would be cleared up on Monday. So we will see what happenes.

That would be shitty if he had to fight the day after getting arrested for owing child support. The cops knew where he was going to be why not arrest him after when he has earned something to pay her with.

Hopefully his opponent is not in his class.

What ever he's been doing is obviously not enough to feed the childrens He gets booted from apartment by Uncle.....cant pay his rent and child support then or something.Shite get a day job...fight harder....collect cans....something but take care of your kids man.Good move that Johnny law let him out.Message delivered and now he can do that.

Imagine if he wasn't going to be allowed to fight because of being arrested? How would he be able to pay the child support? That would've been a terrible situation!

Hopkins was given a grace period of until 6:30 last night to make the weigh-in, but he didn't make it. Therefore he will miss out on his first boxing paycheck of the year. He was scheduled to make $25,000.

How close is to Bernard does anyone know if he would help him out.

They couldn't be any further apart. Demetrius claims Bernard threw him, his fiancee, and their 6 year old son out on the street because he was two weeks late with the rent. D Hop said he had the money, but was in the process of switching banks. D Hop said he was most angry about Bernard kicking his son out on the street, and because of that doesn't want to do any business with his uncle.

Story sounds a little fishy to me because you have to go through a process to evict tenants, which takes a lot longer than two weeks. And how long does it take to switch banks? I mean you go to your bank and say "I want to close my account." And then you go to another bank and say "I want to open an account." Neither of those steps should take 2 days, let alone two weeks.

Maybe I am wrong but I hardly see how B-Hop would kick his nephew out for a 2 weeks late rent... I am more than sure that it is not even pocket money to him but anyway... guess we'll have more breaking news about it quite soon.
