Amazing how everyones opinion will change after today. If Chambers keeps coming in light he may be the best american heavyweight. Him, Arreola, And Haye should fight each other.

You should lump Povetkin in that group too

If you wanna get incredibily basic with butterbean, the fact is as much of a entertainer and hype he got it was do to the fact he would fight anyone, he could punch a hole through someone and he has tremendous heart and will.. Thats what they want to see in a gladiator type.
I loved to watch butterbean do his thing, becuase he would fight you if you had a baseball bat, he just didnt care...

I hear you man.He did what he could with what he had .Its always burned me up seeing his azz on numerous PPV cards
.Dont think they wanted him fighting serious guys, thats why they restricted him to 4 rounds.Sad to say but I rewatched an old tough man tournament a month ago that I....cough-hack-cough....recorded and they "fought" the bouts back to back. One right after the other within a matter of hours.Crazy shite indeed.Butterbean got the crisco beat out of him and lost to a Scotty Biskner in the final.

Re: Does Goosen favor Arreola over Chambers and if so why?
When a CLASS American Heavyweight hits the scene, I'll be the first one there paying my respects.
Cris Arreola has some boxing skill, he doesn't like using it, and although he hits hard he takes lots of punishment and has been hurt by very limited fighters....he stands a poor chance vs a true boxer and even poorer chance when that boxer can either take a punch or punch back.
I don't hate Arreola, I don't like his chances vs Wladimir or Vitali given his previous results though. He's better than Butterbean, I'll give you that
So by your rational if Wladimir KO'd Evander Holyfield he'd be a Hall of Famer

Re: Does Goosen favor Arreola over Chambers and if so why?
I just think it's a sad day for the American heavyweights when Arreola and Chambers are being touted as the future of the American heavyweights.
That's how bad the HW division is for America.

Re: Does Goosen favor Arreola over Chambers and if so why?
Chambers could and probably should beat Arreola. Doesn't mean he would though, obviously he's got some issues.
Though clearly Arreola is what more fans look for in a heavyweight.

Sad to say but Larry was still very competitive at an advanced age more so than Evander, Larry was crafty and like Bhop could slow the pace of a fight more to his tempo, albeit he wasnt as successful as Hop but it prevented him from getting terribly embarrassed
He got Ko'd by a prime Tyson
Gave a prime Holyfield all he could handle
Beat Mercer
Lost by a round or two against Oliver Mccall
I know you grasp at times but you know that Larry was better than Evander at this juncture
As far as Arreola, we dont know how good he could be, he definetly has boxing skill and dosent utilize it since he has been able to assurt his will through applying pressure and determination. No one has the pure boxing skill as Klitschko and will not win that battle. the guy who beats Wladimir is going to be a decent enough boxer who can pick his spots and apply intelligent aggression and pressure. Arreola has excellent power, heart and determination. IF he is able to apply the above technique than he will derail Klitschko.
Everyone knows he is a Fat tattooed slob that likes to where pink trunks, but he has a coolness and composure to go with a blue collar down to earthness that people like to rally behind

Re: Does Goosen favor Arreola over Chambers and if so why?
Evander basically beat Nicolay Valuev and other than that hasn't been given any chances. But seriously, what you're saying is basically there is NOBODY boxing right now that Wladimir can beat to become a Hall of Famer...I disagree with that whole heartedly.
Wladimir deserves some respect, it doesn't matter about whether you like his style or not he has done a lot in the sport 53 wins and 47 KO's...that's nothing to sneeze at.
I think if Arreola, Haye, Povetkin, and Chambers are able to hold their own vs the top level of the division, Wlad should be given full credit when he beats them.
