    Default Fnf 8/14/09

ESPN2 "Vicious" Vivian Harris takes on Noe Bolanos in a battle to regain relevancy. Both guy would have had the power to get on the top 10 board 5 years ago when there wasn't as much competition there, now with the division being so stacked it is hard to belive either will even get a shot at this. Harris is a 3 to 1 favorite by the books and I agree completely. Deontay Wilder will try to keep his first round TKO streak alive on the undercard as well. PLus it comes from beautiful Arizona, best state in the union

Telemundo Antonio Pitalua tries to bounce back after being absolutely crushed at the hands of Valero, his opponent is 31 year old Jose Reyes whose last win ironically enough against Noe Bolanos Harris's opponent on the other card. This fight will completely be decided on how well Pitalua can bounce back.

I just hope we have some good fights tonight, because we won't be able to enjoy FNF much longer this year.

    FNF ends in 2 weeks.

I don't like that it has a season, should be year round.

    I completely agree!!!

But I guess that they are going to have one boxing event in September, according to Dan Rafael's Notebook today.

    • Although "Friday Night Fights" finishes its season Aug. 28 and won't be back until January, there will be a live boxing special Sept. 18 on ESPN2, network boxing programmer Doug Loughery told ESPN.com. In conjunction with "Hispanic Heritage Month," ESPN2 will air a card from the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. Headlining will be two-time Olympic gold medalist and Cuban defector Guillermo Rigondeaux (2-0, 2 KOs), who will step up to a 10-round fight for a regional junior featherweight title against an opponent to be named. Three other former Cuban Olympians are also slated for action: cruiserweight Yunier Dorticos, light heavyweight Yordanis Despaigne and junior middleweight Yudel Johnson. Two other prospects may appear: junior middleweight Erislandy Lara, another Cuban defector and former world amateur champion, and junior welterweight Felix Diaz, a 2008 Olympic gold medalist from the Dominican Republic.

Hartman's going for an armbar. This is like Rigondeaux's first opponent.
