This is a good thing for boxing, but I wonder if they are trying to make up lost revenue from the lack of ticket sales.
I hope they do this for the Cotto/Pac fight.

It's a very good idea taken from others, but there are some obvious issues.
It is in direct competition with Sports bars and a few CCTV's. Very few theaters actually serve beer. I've been to a few events shown in sports bars and have never seen a cover charge more than $10. A two or three drink minimum would be a more appropriate. I went to a small bar and was able to bargain the fight for $5 per head because I had 6 people with me and would be ordering. only 170 theaters well even sold out I don't think it would gross more that $500k so it's more than likely a gimmick by Mayweather. It's probably utilizes those cinema savers where you only pay a dollar or two for the movie. Low risk. $12 buck is to much for this atmosphere and a boring match up. You might even fall asleep.
I'd like to read the particulars.
