It isn't his weight; it is their weight. Mayweather doesn't use his size like Vlad uses his size as he doesn't bully his opponents or keep them off with his superior reach and jab. However, when he is fighting a smaller opponent it is easier for Floyd to use his defensive prowess to stay out of reach and win on the cards. Hatton and DLH looked TONS better than Marquez against Mayweather. In fact, in his whole career other than the first Castillo fight, DLH came closest to beating Floyd because it wasn't as easy to stay away from DLH. Pacquiao will suffer the same result as Marquez because he won't be able to close the distance.

The fight wouldn't have been any different at 144 because Marquez would still be a blown up lightweight.

Floyd fighting whoever always seems like a good idea till the fight actually happens. Floyd himself will go miles to help eveyone think pac has a chance when he really doesn't. Floyd fighting marquez or pac was a silly idea from the start. We all want floyd to loose so bad that we can bring any justificaton to make it seem like there's a chance. Floyd aint the greatest thing ever but he is the best right now. It's not that he beat juan most expected that. It's how he beat him, after a layoff without really even letting the guy hit him. Pac is a great fighter he really is but him beating floyd is just a little far fetched. No more catchweights no more little opponets. If floyd is going to fight. Let's see him really fight. Pac couldn't handle marquez and he sure as hell aint beating mayweather.

You did the part I highlighted? Where it was claimed that PBF would beat Marquez at ANY weight. Marquez moved up out of his comfort zone and got handed do you think Floyd would have boiled down to meet Marquez? Of course not.

Did you see this fight going any differently? Marquez was taylor made for Mayweather. He was smaller, slower, and always been at his best against aggressive fighters who he could break down with counter punching.

Pac still has the one weapon we know can get to Mayweather - a fast, hard straight left. I agree Pac will get hit, but he will win rounds. I absolutely favor Mayweather, but Pac will win some rounds. I see it as a more competitive version of Judah/Mayweather. Marquez didn't have a single weapon that you would expect to trouble Mayweather. No size advantage, no speed or power advantage, no reach advantage, no dominating jab, not a southpaw. Pac will at least land some meaningful punches and make it interesting for a while.

I totaly agree with this one VD. I say PBF even KO's Pac comin in.... No sweat for mayweather. To be honest, i'm convinced that Cotto is gonna end the PAC train anyhow so i guess we'll see.....

Some one mention this on another thread and I had been in the same though process.

Pac had alot of trouble with marquez because he likes to shoot down the middle as well as counter punch, guys who hook primarily DLH, Hatton, Cotto got eaten up. Cotto was snapping Pac's head back pretty good with the Jab and right when he through it...

Floyd has that dynamite straight right he lands which will find the home against the southpaw Pac, as well as the body jab which will upset Pac's rythm and setup the pretty boy nicely.. I think Pac will get the occasional punch for the early rounds and be the aggressor, but as usual Floyd will make the adjustments and start Carving Pac upslowly and methodically until he is there for the taking.

I hope PAC comes in as the underdog in this one just like when he fought Oscar. And the rest is history

I think we should all give up with the predictions, although Mayweather UD and PAC by KO remain pretty solid picks

Mouthwatering clash, it has to happen.

I still think Floyd will sort him out pretty good but nothing would surprise me.
