Thread: I got to thinking about the PBF Mosley interview

Default I got to thinking about the PBF Mosley interview

...perhaps GBP is trying to make Mosley a viable option if Manny Pacquiao was to lose. Floyd has never even considered fighting Miguel Cotto and I don't think that would change if he beat Pacquiao. It wouldn't be that Cotto somehow just made himself a viable opponent for PBF, it would be that Pacquiao just lost and therefore made himself "unworthy" of a shot vs Mayweather.

    What do you guys think?

    Could have a point

no doubt they want to cover all their bases and if possible keep it in the circle

Pacquiao is a goer if he gets past cotto arum will make sure of that. But no doubt GBP dont wanna bank it already only to have cotto complete piss on their fire and leave them without a viable option!!

They just want a big fight for Mosley. They're not worried who wins Manny Cotto, whoever it is is promoted by Arum and they're not part of the deal of any future Manny/Cotto vs. Floyd fight. I think Floyd will fight Cotto if Cotto beats Manny, he'll have more leverage in the negotiations and it'll piss GBP and Mosley off. I'm sure Floyd would like to do that after the Kellerman ambush. If Cotto did beat Manny it would be a much bigger fight than the Mosley fight anyway. I'm pretty sure Floyd will fight Mosley at some point because he needs to pile up as much cash as possible before he quits again.

Agreed but I think there is a plenty of pressure on Mosely to fight someone big asap. Father time is ticking.

Yeah, he looked washed up before Hands of Plaster and may do so again next time out. You can't blame him for wanting to fight Mayweather and making as much as he can.

How did he look washed up? by losing a either way 115-113 decision to cotto? by beating collazo 118-110 UD...by kayoing Mayorga at 154 an fighter that has been as a high as 160?

Mosely can loose to clottey in the same breath that he beat margo, and he's worried about mayweather ?? Please, mayorga the easiest guy in the world to hit damn near gave him a handfull, so floyd who shane would rarely hit....just give floyd the win ahead of time.

I'm sure floyd could hit mayorga all day long, but would he stop him? Don't think so seeing as how he can't stop guys two weight classes smaller than him. After he knocked them down in round 2.

Again what difference does it make how shane did against all these other guys? Did floyd make shane look bad? Nope!!!

These silly excuses posed as reason not to fight shane is ridiculous...shane aint worth it because he struggled with this guy and that guy..but oh yea beat up Gatti who was torn to shreds already by Oscar and Ivan robinson...yeah fight judah who was kayoed by KT, beaten by baldomir and spinks....its okay fight Baldomir who has nine losses. Yeah agree to fight JMM at 144 but then at the last second renege on the deal and expect to be taken seriously pound for pound.

Floyd is the same guy who says..."didn't pac get knocked out cold twice already and get outboxed by morrales?", but come next year barring a miquel cotto upset...guess who floyd will be fighting?

pac go ko'd by one guy. The other one was ruled a ko but really was a hard punch to the nuts. Punching a guy in the nuts should not be ruled a ko.

I can understand a promotion company for trying to get the biggest match for one of their best fighter, especially when he's aging and getting old by any boxing standards. Will PBF fight Moseley? Not in a close future, the big money lies ahead with the Cotto-Pacman fight result plus Mayweather knows Moseley can beat him speed and strength wise so he will wait till he's shot before fighting him.

Mayweather is very reluctant to fight Shane, because he knows he is a real threat. It would be the hardest fight for Floyd, as I think he can beat Pac and will worry about the size and power of Cotto but could outbox him over 12 rounds. Shane will storm him and be all over him like a bad rash.

Shane struggled with Mayorga, do you actually believe he would challenge Floyd? Oh how soon everyone forgets how many people labeled Shane as done a few years ago and washed up, even after the Mayorga fight, but he goes and beats Margarito and everyone thinks suddenly he can beat Floyd? Are Margarito's style so much similar to floyds you can draw that comparison? Floyd would have done the same thing to Margarito with the exception of the knockout.

And what do you think Shane would have done to JMM. It was a mis-match.
