Thread: Deceitful: free PPV

Not honest but has worked with my cable company, hit the accept button and then call the cable company right away and tell them your kid was playing with the controller. They won't charge you for it but they don't deactivate it either. I learned this from my 2 1/2 yr old grand daughter at my sons house. Wowway cable company in the midwest U.S., don't try this unless your willing to pay for it.

....I can tell you it won't work multiple times as they will give you a PIN number that you have to punch in if you want a PPV movie/event. I lived with a person who would always buy a bunch of PPV things when they had trouble just paying the rent so my other roommate and I locked the PPV with a PIN and I figure the cable company will suggest that to you after a time or two

I agree it can't work multiple times for sure, and I never tried it because I'm to frugal with my money to pay more on top of my regular bill, but it happened at my sons house and we watched the ppv and they took it off his bill. So if your going to try this with the sole purpose of not paying for it don't be surprised when the bill comes.

It works if you don't do it much, especially if you have you kids in the background when you call. You can also order like a week ahead of time then cancel it and say you changed you mind right before and they leave it still too. Best way is always to just get a couple of dudes together chip in and pay. Most i've charged people at my house is like five bucks, cause there are always enough people, shit for big fights i make money sometimes i even charge ten just depends.

yea that's what i do if we're gonna make an event out of it, like the Cotto/Pacquiao fight, basically everyone pays a certain amount for the bill, and bring a 12 pack of beer lol, but for the fights that i'm only up for, well it's obvious i just pay the bill, Mayweather/Marquez although not a bad fight, i mean Mayweather's display of boxing ability was awesome, but in all honesty Escobedo/Katsidis saved the card lol

Shit, do you guys have many friends? I wouldn't charge my friends, and they wouldn't charge me. If its at my house i pay for it and get the beers in, if its at their house they do the same. It swings in roundabouts. I can't imagine taking money off my friends at the door!
