    Default A new Dirrell FAN

I've finally got around to watching the the Froch Vs Dirrell fight having worked Saturday.

I hadn't seen Dirrell fight before but wow this guy can box. That's right BOX, in the sport of BOXING. Not fucking standing infront of your opponent like a retard hoping to get a knockout which is what Froch has tried to do now in his last 3 fights. The only props I could give Froch in this fight were his incredible fitness - to stay in and force the fight for 12 rounds despite throwing punches and getting caught constantly with flashy counters and an effective jab he still looked dangerous until the final bell. He also showed good sportsmanship by showing Dirrell respect by waiting for the judges verdict post fight.

I accept that Dirrell held a little too much, but given the type of fighter he was facing who is dangerous on the inside who can blame him?. Anyway, from what I saw it resulted in Dirrell holding because Froch was throwing big swinging hooks which ended up missing and then getting too close for comfort. Dirrell should've had more confidence in his chin and his own power because he clearly hurt Froch in the 11th which was the only time either fighter was hurt.

Here's my take on the fight:
    Round 1: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 2: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 3: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 4: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 5: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 6: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 7: 10 - 9 Froch
    Round 8: 10 - 9 Froch
    Round 9: 9 - 10 Dirrell
Round 10: 9 - 9 DRAW (for the crap point deduction and the fact Dirrell otherwise won this round)
    Round 11: 9 - 10 Dirrell
    Round 12: 9 - 10 Dirrell

Dirrel wins in my book 117 - 110

Had any other decent ref oversaw this fight Froch would've been deducted a point aswell - you could argue either for the throw to the floor in round 5, the constant punching after the break or the hitting around the back of the head. Dirty fucker. Almost as dirty as his slag of a girlfriend for the "he's fighting like a faget" comment. She clearly knows her boxing doesn't she.

I'd send this bollocks off to Don King and he'll make sure you're judging one of his fighters next bouts.

    Pretty strange scorecard.

I actually had Froch doing better for the mjaority of the first half of the fight and then Dirrell for the majority of the second.

There were some very close rounds, and really if Dirrell had switched it on from the get go he could have possibly won

I don't have a problem with the deduction, excessive holding should be penalized, he warned him a few times if I remember correctly and then took a point. Made for a better fight after that. Not saying the ref got high marks, he only paid attention to one fighter, Froch should have been penalized or DQ'd for all the rabbit punches.

Anyway I gave Froch three rounds, four would be okay, anything over that's a stretch I think. He just didn't land.

Just finish watching the fight for the 3rd time with the sound off. How did Froch win that fight. Froch is a good fighter so dont get me wrong but u must land punches to win a fight. Direll did hold an moved alot but when he moved he quickly re-positioned his self in a fighting stance so that does not constitute running. The moving and holding was a result of Froch being a damn good and strong fighter, But u must land punches to win fights and he did not. Direll 8-4 or at the most 7-5.

don't see how anyone could have had Dirrell that far ahead nor Abraham so if you had AA that far ahead, guess you and Darth have a bit in common, goin by your logic

i agree with most of what you said, but Dirrell himself said he held on to Froch cause he was fighting dirty as fuck, and anyone who tries to deny it is crazy, but i agree Dirrell should have won 8 rnds to 4

I don't think giving froch two rounds is that crazy, I think that was CFH's card. LOL what did he do to win rounds, he won somewhere between 2-4 rounds.

During the fight I gave Froch two or three rounds and I feel that four was the most he could have justifiably won (I think that would give him a round for every punch landed ). He didn't do anything but chase Dirrell around the ring, swinging at the air and getting tagged with counters. He was also a far dirtier fighter than Dirrell and I feel they both should have lost points.

I want to watch the fight again to re-score it but I just can't make myself do it.

He could be lethal but the heart is not there yet and if he could use his switchhitting and speed together then add about twelve months in maturity.
Fact is that Carl Froch would easilly have beaten him if he had come to fight...he did not come to fight and Froch chased him down all night and rightfully won by a street.
I was at the fight and the above is how i saw it,i am just a boxing fan with no axe to grind.
ummm starting to think that there's something in the water in Nottingham...

I can't believe the hostility towards my thread. It's just an opinion and I've given reasons for why I thought Dirrel won most of the rounds. Mayweather and Roy Jones have fought like this for most of their careers. I appreciate a fighter most for being so evasive and landing so many punches in reply more than I do watching Tua or Tyson slug it out. It's entertaining but less skillful.

I standby my comment about the girlfriend.

don't worry there will always be the fanboys who take it to heart, and well i gotta say it, Froch's girlfriend might be an annoying bitch that screams like a banshee, but on mute, she's hot as fuck lol
