Anyone got any news on this? I used to know a guy who worked at Setanta so got a bit of inside info there, but does anyone have any idea what's going on with this one?

Nothing I have heard so far. I am really worried that they will not be showing the biggest fight of the year.

Sky are probably waiting till a few days before the fight when they can buy the rights for buttons. There's no point paying retail when you're the only game in town. Although I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that they're showing it.

I was thinking maybe PRIMETIME would put it on as a ppv event.

Fair play to sky theyre not allowing the BIG stateside fights to go unaired. Before setantas collapse the only time they showed a non hatton fight from america in like 2 years was mosley-mayorga

I think they must know that a lot of fight fans would cancel there SKY if they did not produce the big fights.

I know I would anyway.

They dont have to go to any lengths to get these fights now setanta are gone and espn arent wanting boxing.

Before setanta they always had the big fights but once they came along financially they blew sky out of the water.

i have been very disapointed with skys contribution to showing fights lately so this helps redeem them

Sky have shown a few big fights from over there mate apart from Hatton basically Sky have shown every massive GoldenBoy fight for years, Top rank had a exclusive agreement with Setanta other than that sky had loads.It's just that most of tyhe huge figths in the last couple of years have involved top rank fighters Pavlik,Pac, Cotto.Most of Hopkins fights are usually on sky Pac Dela Hoya was all Barrera fights were on sky, I see what your saying but now Setanta has gone I see sky showing Top Rank fights.
