Default Cris Arreola fighting again 12/5

Fresh off a devistating loss to Vitali Klitschko, Cris Arreola will now be on the undercard of Paul Williams vs TBA.

So let me ask you guys....
#1 Should he be fighting so soon after such a beating?
    #2 Who WILL he fight?
#3 Who do you want him to fight?
    #4 Who SHOULD he fight?

The last 3 questions seem redundant but there are subtle differences. The question for #2 is in all reality we know he's not going to fight any fighter that will test him since he's on the rebound, the #3 question is more for the future...on down the road who should he fight. The #4 question is who should he fight to get better as a boxer...but then again that opens up another can of worms.....

#5 Will he be in shape?

Well... he'll be in 'a shape' to say the least.

    Probably quite a spherical one.

I know he'll probably not want to have an easy fight but his management will want him to rebuild confidence.

Here's the list of opponents who are OFF LIMITS either due to having just fought, having a fight already scheduled, or being injured: Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, Oleg Maskaev, Hasim Rahman, Andrew Golota, Tomaz Adamek, Nicolay Valuev, David Haye, Alexander Dimitrenko, Luan Krasniqi, Alexander Povetkin, Sam Peter, Eddie Chambers, Albert Sosnowski, Paulo Vidoz, Ray Austin, DaVaryl Williamson, Lamon Brewster

Here's a list of opponents he COULD schedule: Juan Carlos Gomez, Ruslan Chagaev, Tony Thompson, Fransesco Pianetta, Jason Estrada, Fres Oquendo, Dominick Guinn, Cedrick Boswell, Brian Minto, Audley Harrison, Mariusz Wach, Mike Mollo, Carl Davis Drummond, Derric Rossy.

    Here's my top 5
    1. Fres Oquendo - He's still a name, still a decent boxer, and he's got a dodgey chin
    2. Brian Minto - He's an exciting fighter, he's got decent power, and it would be nice to see Arreola BOX a bit
    3. Dominick Guinn - He's tough, he's past his best, but he's never been KO'd, and I don't think he's really ever been hurt.
    4. Mariusz Wach - he's 6'7, he's got a bad chin, he's out of shape, and he would LOOK impressive on the canvas
    5. Cedrick Boswell - He's only been beaten 1 time, he doesn't have great power or have superior boxing skill....but he would still be a decent challenge

I want Cris to have a little challenge, but guys like Tony Thompson are dangerous to Arreola because he's easy to hit and he CAN box well but he doesn't always do it, and nobody knows how motivated Cris will be for this. I think this fight will tell us a lot about Arreola, I hope he comes back in shape and determined unlike Sam Peter

Yeah, Thompson is probably the fight Arreola should have taken instead of either Klitschko. We all pretty much knew Vitali was too big a step up for him, and he wouldn't have fared any better against Vlad, but when an opportunity presents itself...

Hopefully it was more of a learning experience than a devastating one for him. Maybe Thompson would be a good fight for him after his next fight? I agree that Oquendo might be a good one for him. Minto would probably be a bit of a roll reversal, so that might be good as well.

Arreola is awful. It was like watching a beached whale being hit repeatedly with a stick against Vitali.

I don't see any problems with him coming back again so soon, but I have no interest in watching him fight. He just isn't very good. He plods forwards and wings punches every now and then. It's just horrible.

At least with someone like Toney who is always out of condition, you can sit back and admire the technique. There is nothing fun about watching Arreola for me.

I think its good for him to get right back in.Can never be certain of what sticks with a guy after a drubbing like he experienced with Vitali, physically and mentally but does not seem the sort that sulking and waiting would benefit. He really, really wears it all on the sleeve, was broken after that loss.Cannot see anyone to formidable being brought in,just a semi recongnizable bounce back sort off tv.I know that will never happen.we like our train wrecks and returns in the bright lights....front and center but in some cases would be good to see some guys off huge tv stage and more focused on just getting back, upright firstly.

    I wouldn't call it a beating Lyle...

He took an ass whoppin' the shots we're hard and all but at no point did he look in bad shape or on the verge of being TKO'd.

    1. So I think a fight in Dec. is a good thing for him. Keep him going and get his confidence back up.

    Eddie Chambers beats him IMO.

    Brian Minto would be perfect.

He wont jump straight back in with another world operator just off the back of a loss to klitschko

Something nice and smooth that can ease him back into a winning pattern. Its only an undercard fight for goodness sake
    one dangerous horrible bloke

Myk_Myk, Thompson is the PERFECT fight for anyone considering fighting Wladimir. Tony uses his heigh, his reach, he has great defense, a solid chin, and he has a very good jab...if any prospect wants to fight and beat Wladimir then Tony Thompson would at least prepare them a bit.

Miles, Arreola is a good puncher, a decent boxer, he just needs to get in shape and work on his defense.

Mick, that fight could have been a lot worse, but Vitali wasn't even sitting down on his punches and he was tattooing Cris.

For the rest of yall, Eddie Chambers isn't fighting until early next year when Wladimir comes back. Eddie won't risk his title shot just to stay busy.

I'm gonna throw James Toneys name out there. Toneys pretty much done for the most part (Even though he still thinks he can win a belt) but can still box so in my opinion would push Cris to the limits not to mention we would see Cris boxing more than just a quick fight (no way he knocks out James) witch we saw allot before the Klit fight. Plus if he was to get past James its a good name on his resume.

They will put him against somebody with a good resume but past his prime to make sure he's regaining confidence without putting his career and his position in the rankings in danger. Forget Chambers or anybody that would have good chances to beat him, too dangerous for the guy,s career at this point and I think that Guinn would be quite a possible and logical choice and I wouldn't be surprised if Oquendo would be announced or even Holyfield for the matter.

It looks like Arreola may fight David Tua and that's who I would like to see him fight. Would there be a ko or would it play out like the Ike Ibeabuchi fight? Or would Tua go for the body of the taller man? A body attack from Tua would be a bad day for any fighter.
