Default How the hell has Zab Judah fallen from grace so much ?

Was watching the Judah-Clottey fight earlier and I was sad to see Judah get outpointed. Years ago when he was the 140 champ he was the next big thing and his career just fell apart. Where did all go so wrong for Judah ?

TBH I don't know why he was fighting at WW for so long when he could so easily have fitted in at 140. All the top guys he's been fighting just seem naturally bigger and physically stronger than him (Cotto, Clottey, Baldomir). Though having said that, there is no real excuse for losing to someone as limited as Baldomir.

Otherwise, I just don't think he knows how to stay focussed for more than half a dozen rounds. And it seems to have been that way for a long while now. He blows hot and cold in fights and it seems to show more and more after every defeat.

Maybe he can turn it around, but he hasn't really suggested it in recent fights.

Well lack of focus, emotional outbursts and too much relying on natural talent than developing his skills further. That and it has been years since he was a 140 pound champ amd I would say he has passed his peak prime years. Another fight or two and he will be a stepping stone for up and comers if he isn't already there.

    Judah was stopped by Clottey.

Judah was talented but 147lb fighters seem to over power him.

Because Judah like way to many pro boxers surrounds himself with too many idiots. His "posse" that encourages his poor behaviour. I use to be a fan. When I 1st saw Judah fight I thought he had a chance to be special. His quickness was like SweatPea and he punched way harder.

But you right about him relying on his natural talent too much. That's why he got knocked down some much. Poor technique. Once he lost to Tszyu he just turned into another street punk if you ask me. Always had an excuse, always was calling somebody out, always shooting his mouth off, blaming everyone else and never taking responsibility for his own actions.

Go and watch his fight with Mayweather, its like a mini soap opera of his career. I wins the 1st 4 round, then stops punching and Floyd out works him and then all hell breaks loose and he looks for a way out (ala his hero Tyson) and stalkes Mayweather so he can sucker punch him. Instead of beating him like a real man.

Judah makes the top of my list for ass clowns I'd love to see get KTFO!!!

It was by a cut they ruled a headbutt, was actually a punch. Initially they went to the cards and I disagreed with the scoring.

Clottey was just too big, he still has those tools that made people so high on him but just never grew and adjusted as a fighter. Still, people's champ baby Zab number 1.

I think he's always been too tightly wound.Moments of apparent super star status, abilty but basically has not been able to maintain at the next level and further damage when he opens his mouth.I think he's done.

Zab Judah was a fighter with awesome talent, his combination for speed and power was very impressive imo and at his best and most foused he could compete with alot of top fighters.

The problem for Judah is he loses his focus when pressured.

In his fights against Baldomir, Mayweather, Cotto and Clottey they all applied pressure on Judah, once he cracked they were able to break him down and beat him up.

I do think Judah would be better suited to move down to 140 which i think he could make easily with a bit more discipline. I think a move down to 140 would suit him better because he would be fighting guys closer to his size where at 147 he is at a disadvantage in the size department.

I doubt Judah could beat the likes of Bradley, etc at 140 but he would certainly be a tough test for guys in the top 10.

He stopped moving his feet. He thinks he is so slick that he can dodge everything, and maybe he can when he spars, but once he gets in there with a guy like Cotto they start picking him apart because he doesn't move, and his defensive posture is similar to Floyd's but Floyd ties guys up, and he is orthodox which works much better with the philly shell against other orthodox fighers.

He needed a good team to get his head right and keep him focused..

You see in fights after a couple or rounds, his whole team is complaining to the ref.. Zab would fight for 1 minute, and because of his lack of focus and his team never keeping him focused either, he's probably spend 40 seconds of that minute thinking about the one bullsh!t low blow that the ref didn't see.. Waiting for another one so he can complain..

He had the skills, and I think how he ended up fighting, he would have been better off at 140 where his lack of focus wouldn't have cost him fights so easily,
BUTTTT I think he belonged at 147 and should have won there with what he had.. He had the potential, but if he had a team that put his mind on the right things coming into and during fights, he could have actually won there... If by round 3 your corner is telling you how bullsh!t all the fouls have been so far instead of telling you that your jab is owning the fight if you'll just keep using it, then you gotta get another corner..... He had a certain attitude of lack of focus, and he kept people around him to long with the same problem..

therby, the waste of incredible tallent that is now Zab Judah...

Judah has so much talent that it's sad that he's not up there with the other top guys. I often forget that Judah was WW champ at one point.

Well I agree with what most of you are saying, he has a total lack of focus. It's like he almost doesn't give the sport that has given him so much, any respect, because he doesn't seem to have any real dedication in trying to improve himself, and doesn't have the drive to make the most of his skills. It's like he's just skating along for paychecks these days.

I mean, you know he's on a down slide when a shower door gets the best of him.

One right hand from Kostya Tszyu and it kept going down hill from there.

You know dare I say it, but I notice a little bit of fat around Cotto's midriff. He has a bit of a pokey tummy.
