Default Marquez vs. Vazquez IV nearly done

    Vazquez-Marquez IV? | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7

Showtime to televise and it'll be at the Staples Center. Vazquez has agreed, just awaiting Marquez to accept the terms.

I dunno yeno. They've taken alot out of each other. I think by this stage a young gun like JML or Gamboa would finish them. I think for a payday they won't do any better, and it'll be a great fight. I'm not going to complain about seeing another firecracker, would you?

I'd watch them fight 8 times. I'm glad they have had time, expect nothing less but another FOTY canidate. We'll likely find out what fighter the 3 fights have taken more out of. Still, I can get excited for this any day. Hopefully they get PAID. I'm sure Showtime will, I hope this means they'll show that cool "Trilogy" fight-documentary they made about the fights.

Neither have looked good since the 3rd fight. Of course they haven't fought much since then (one each? I think).

From what I've heard, Showtime put foward a $2.5m offer for the fight, and Staples Center offered a fair bit to stage it. It would appear they will likely both receive a career high purse.

Did Marquez ever fight? I didn't think so and Vazquez just fought a few weeks ago. Either way the familiarity with each other should make up for any rust they have.

Yeah, he fought in May on the undercard to Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Toshiaki Nishioka. He won by 3rd round KO to get WBC #1 contendership.

Marquez did, 3rd or 4th round KO over an overmatched guy, I thought his legs looked kind of shaky and he didn't look very good overall, but at least as far as his legs not looking strong I've thought that before so I don't know, it seemed worse.

I think it'll be awful and they'll be shadows of their former selves. OK, not awful, but nothing like the last three.

They definitely took a great deal out of each other so a payday is their only option.

Just don't want to see it.I mean...what is there left to prove?Go against some other blood.I think Marquez has something left, not ready to throw him onto the heap. With Izzy who knows, injuries abound and boo-koo time off.

what do they prove by doing this? i mean..its either they hang up the gloves or move up. they made one of the all time best trilogies ever. they are just gonna hurt their legacies if this fight ends up not living up to the hype.

I think its pointless really. Just move on with your careers and do something else instead of flogging this dead horse.

They are so busy fighting each other that the division has moved on now. Guys like Cabbellero and Lopez have now become the divisions stars and these two just continue to pound away at each other like remnants of the collapsing Roman Empire.

I think both are finished at the highest level now.
