Punch Power: 679 | | Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey Just watched these two fights today, and they were both awsome fights. Both were super close, and all four fighters showed tremendous heart, stamina, chins(except Dawson), and a great ability to deal with adversity. |

Punch Power: 679 | | Re: Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey I am just surprised nobody is talking about that rematch more. It was an awsome fight yet it seems to completely be overshadowed by Cotto-Pacquiao and it could very well be the better fight. |

Punch Power: 740 | | Re: Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey If dawson had never fought johnson before i'd still say dawson wins but i'd give johnson a better chance. Now that chad knows what to expect this fight will be easier than the last....johnson won't change anything.

Punch Power: 2023 | | Re: Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey You'd think Mar but Dawson also fought Tarver twice and Tarver performed much better in the rematch and actually made it a closer fight. Dawson looked very stale. I'm with Taeth, I don't get the lack of buzz and even talking down of this fight by everybody. It makes me want to go and requote eeeevverrryyooonne who said Dawson needs to rematch Johnson. Bar B-Hop this is the BEST thing he could do in the division. Who would you rather see him fight, Tavoris Cloud? If he's as good as many think he is, he can afford to wait around a bit. Johnson-Dawson is probably the best LHW fight of the decade. Right?

Punch Power: 7 | | Re: Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey Dawson-Johnson 2 had to happen
I heard The Ring left Hopkins at 1
So this fight won't be for the belt
If these cats can put on a show half as good as the 1st i'll be happy |

To be perfectly honest though this fight is happening because theres pretty much no other names that spring to mind for dawson to fight.
Hopefully the winner of green-jones will get a crack at bad chad. Otherwise i fear we could be going around in circles with this one for a while yet

After Roy schools Green-B-Hop schools him
Then Hopkins will attempt a Foreman like feat against Bad Chad for the championship |

Punch Power: 679 | | Re: Dawson-Johnson, Cotto-Clottey Don't be so sure that Hopkins will crush RJJ, Calzaghe and Glen Johnson were pressure fighters, which is why they did so well against Roy. If you can keep him pinned against the ropes he isn't dangerous, but even Calzaghe couldn't match Roy's speed and accuracy in the middle of the ring, which is why he hardly let Roy fight in the middle of the ring. Hopkins doesn't have that offensive gear he used to possess, and Roy is just as tricky as he is, its just Bernard Hopkins has stayed in better shape, and has made himself an elusive type fighter while Roy got bored and continued to school guys effortlessly. Roy's offensive abilities aren't all athletic he throw's genius combinations and he still has great timing, if he is allowed to fight at his pace. I can't see Hopkins rushing, I think they will be in for a very competitive fight, but I actually would favor Roy in this fight just because Hopkins is older, he hasn't foughten in much longer, and Roy is faster. Take away pressure and I think Roy is still extremely hard to beat. | |
