I really feel for all of those losing their jobs. I work in the manufacturing sector in America and we are feeling it here as well big time. Huge rounds of layoffs followed by reduced hours and cut benefits for those that remain.
Keep your chin up man, it's all just a time function.

It's frustrating as hell, I was snapping at everyone I know because I was so down about it all. |

Punch Power: 75 | | Re: just lost my job +897 Same thing here bro, redundant twice from the same place in less than two years. Gotta just keep plugging away, to use an expression relevant to this site, when applying for jobs punch above your weight. I have gone for some stuff that didn't have all the criteria for and have at least gotten some interviews out of it.
Same all over the world with the Governments and analysts telling us the recession is over, BOLLOCKS to that.
Keep plugging away my friend and don't let the b******s grind you down.

Punch Power: 225 | | Re: just lost my job +897 Its not impossible to get work at the moment. Like somebody said the best thing is to 'punch above your weight'. Go for jobs that you may feel under qualified for, but go for them with a unique style. I have chanced my arm several times and it usually comes off. Just show employers a style that they don't see everyday. It may get you laughed out of the place, but it might just get you the job. Otherwise, if you apply for job based purely on experience/qualifications you will almost always find somebody better qualified than you. Be unique and be memorable. That would be my advice.
