Barrera is one of the toughest SOBs in the sport and with the heart he has and a little desire he can do it.
Lets go MAB.

Lets hope so
Dont wanna see MAB take another hammering from a guy who 2-3 years back he would of whopped (just like khan)
Would love to see barrera do a Bhop and just keep on going, though the lower down divisions you go the more unlikely that is of happening due to the endurance factor!!

As long as Barrera doesnt get nutted seconds into the 1st round then he wont.

And theres a competent enough ref to realise the intent and disqualify the other man!! |

And theres a competent enough ref to realise the intent and disqualify the other man!! | Are you seriously trying to suggest Khan headbutted Barrera intentionally??
And are you really complaining about Dave Parris allowing the home fighter to use his head??
Oh the irony. |

Oh the irony. | I don't care if that butt was intentional or not. It was horrible and the fight should have been over there and then.
Barrera fought blind for multiple rounds and was being pot shotted by a damn amateur who still got shakey legs.
As long as there are no heads early Barrera can win this one.

It was Juan Diaz before the WBA decided to make him "super" champ. Obviously Marquez beat Diaz.
And obviously the WBA only split up the title to make more money out of it. So obviously it means shit. Like all alphabets.
Anyway.. Marquez is linear champ through beating Casamayor. So Barrera would need to beat him for "world champion" to mean anything. |
Actually, Moses was WBA champion when they decided to make the Marquez vs. Diaz fight for the vacant WBA 'Super' Title purely because the vacant WBO belt was on the line. Marquez is only WBA champion because that organisation is full of shit. |

As long as there are no heads early Barrera can win this one. | I don't disagree, but it was clearly NOT intentional & a Hatton fan is in no position to complain about Parris allowing the home fighter to use his head. |

I don't see how Barrera is going to beat a fighter in his prime right now. Barrera looked like crap against Khan. With or without the cut, I didn't see the outcome being any different. He couldn't deal with the speed from the first bell. Can't stand Barrera anyway. The guy is a sore loser and has never taken a defeat like a man. I respect his accomplishments but I dislike him as a person.
As for this 1st Mexican to win 4 world titles in different weightclasses, if they hadn't robbed Morales against Diaz this wouldn't even be a discussion anymore. |

Yes.. the WBA along with all other alphabets are utter crap.

and in my defense i didn't say anything about Barrera's personality lol
it's just he's clearly past his best and well don't wanna see the guy getting hurt, same reason i'm against a Morales comeback |

He has been so great and it would be the worst thing I could think of to see him get hurt. Not saying he wouldn't win this one but he would take confidence from a win into a bigger fight and there are only so many wars in a great fighter and anyone who is younger or more importantly fresher, who can go to war in the style of Barrera and Morales could end up hurting him. MAB has had too many wars for me!
Sad thing is i'd still pay to watch it. | |
