After his fight with Williams he said he was back and looking to get more fights. Well it's been 8 months now and not a peep. Anyone heard anything? Rumors?

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
He was supposed to fight Grady Brewer this month but the fight was called off.
Winky Wright's return to ring against Grady Brewer canceled - ESPN
Here's an interview with him from the 11th. It looks like he'll be fighting Brewer again in February. It pains me to say this because I'm a big fan of his, but Wright is probably done. He could kick around for another couple of years as a gatekeeper of sorts, but I'd hate to see him end his career that way.

I think Winky has a little more in the tank and as long as he stays away from Paul Williams he should be fine. The Grady Brewer fight was supposed to happen on some ppv but it got canceled and supposedly he wants to drop back down to 154 where he could take on fighters such as Cintron Angulo or even go after another title and take on Yuri Foreman. I hope 2010 is a good year for the Winkster.
Gotta agree. One of the most under appreciated boxers in a long while...at 154 peak a pure pleasure to watch. But they all cross to the other side eventually and I think Wright is now on the other side.Promotions and over extended time off did him no favors. As much as he has some name recognition and opponent value he may have an even harder time securing a gatekeeper status with up and comers and networks as his style and remaining craftiness dont leave execs dropping big bucks and opponents terribly eager to deal with him.If he drops back down that would be great, but this idle time kills him, you cannot erase the years. That said....wish him the best and never one to be slept on.
