hi there all dose anybody no if there is a dvd out of the shea neary story 1999 Documentary on the Light-Welterweight boxing champion from Liverpool.

I genuinely thought he was world class and enjoyed watching him. Ward destroyed him convincingly, although he hurt and wobbled ward early.

I wouldnt say Ward destroyed him, I had Shea winning that fight till that point great fight, tuff man but just lacking that bit more than guts and heart to be world class.

Ward finished off Neary beautifully, but thought Ward was in control of the fight.

Neary was a very good fighter. This was Ward's most underrated performance, and I'm not sure Neary realized what he had bitten off when he agreed to fight Ward. Shea had the misfortune of catching Ward in the peak of his comeback.

I didn't say he was a great fighter. He was a very good domestic fighter who thought he was fighting another very good domestic fighter from the US. Instead, he got a rejuvenated Ward, and he was never the same after. My point was that many people don't rate Ward's win over Neary very significant, and as far as I'm concerned, going on the road to beat Neary was as good a win as Reggie Green or and better than Sanchez.

Neary would have had a better career if Ward hadn't put that beating on him.

Won't argue with that. The Neary-Ward fight is a very underrated fight

It was a very good fight, Ward who normally has a sturdy chin was wobbled in the 3rd by Neary who caught him high on the temple. Ward recovers and puts a beating on Neary, landed some vicious trade marks left hooks to the body and uppercut to finish. Quality.
