There we have it, that glass chin is being saved for a later date.

Well I was hoping that they would take this fight. I remember Roach saying that they were looking at Paulie Maglinaggi a few weeks back.

I wouldn't mind a Malignaggi fight at all if not for Maidana.

Roach is a despicable little turd of a man. First the flip flop on the Olympic style drug testing and now trying to duck a mandatory.

Pathetic, truly pathetic. Khan has no good reason to avoid Maidana. He has a title, now that they think the test is too hard they try to vacate. It's a cowards move.

I hope people start to wake up to the sham that is Amir Khan sooner rather than later. Nobody in their right mind should be forking out to watch him fight soup cans and people purposely chosen because they cannot punch.

What would be cool as hell and I'm sure gain amir respect with anyone is if he said "f vacating" and go ahead and fight maidana, what's roach going to do go ahead and leave him Not likely...

I really think Khan has the tools to take Maidana to school. It would be a compelling fight though, if Maidana could catch Khan it might end very quickly.

Maidana is nothing special but he can hit hard. That's why I think it is outrageous to think about vacating. Khan could very well win by boxing and moving, but there is always that chance he gets put on his rear end. But this is boxing and that is why people pay to watch fights. If you take away all the risks then it just isn't fun.

Khan is a poof if he vacates.

I don't think Khan will vacate, especially if he goes up in a division where he'll meet potentially even harder hitter in the middle term. I think it is more a way to try to unsettle Maidie a bit or something like that. I would be very surprise if the fight doesn't happen and personally, I am sure Khan will bring him to school.

150% agree. If you're going to talk the talk (and Roach has been doing that plenty) you have to walk the walk.

In the past fighters ducked each other the clever way - behind the scenes - fighters that looked dangerous coming up were not given a shot for ages in the hope they get beat by someone else.

To be the best you have to beat the best. Simple as.

Thats disappointing. I read an interview with Khan a few days ago where he said he would be happy to figh Maidana, but it can't exactly give him confidence if his trainer is trying to keep him away from a technically limited fighter. If he vacates i will lose the little respect i currently have for him. He talked about being a champion but almost as soon as he gets there he vacates? Its a joke if he does, but i hope he doesn't.

To be honest I get the feeling Khan and Roach both wanted no part of Maidana and knew this fight wouldn't happen, hence Khan coming out and saying he'll fight him(not to look like a coward). Now all Khans fans will say Khans not afraid of him, he'd fight him, its Roach's fault
Khan's looking a right joke now, Is he just not going to fight anyone with a decent punch for his whole carear?

Khan would look silly backing out of this fight after saying he would want to defend it and saying that he would take on Maidana.

No surprise here.

Khans team were happy to fight his mandatory when it was Salita but when its a fighter with power and stylistically can cause Khan alot of problems, they want to vacate.

What a complete joke.
