Alright I want to get this thread early, I'm excited for this to start. Been missing the Atlas "Hack" for a while now.
Tonight at the Civic Auditorium in sunny Glendale, California
Middleweights
Roman Karmazin 39-3-1 (25 KOs) vs. Dionisio Miranda 20-4-2 (18 KOs)
This is an IBF eliminator fight.
Karmazin is trying to work his way back up to top class in the Middle weight division, this is his fourth climb, this time he is trying to work his way back up from a devastating stoppage by Alex Bunema 24 months ago. Karmazin was boxing his way to a fairly wide decision when he got caught. Since then he has amassed three victories all coming from journeymen, pressing their luck in the senior league.
Miranda is in lock-step with the expected kill or be killed Columbian/ESPN connection, and has been a mainstay in the opponent category for ESPN. His only win of note was against Sebastien Demers on FNF 24 months ago both guys took the fight on short notice and it would have been a draw had Miranda not dropped Demers in the ninth round.
My take: Karmazin has been hurt before but I don't know the Miranda will be able to utilize the opportunity. I think Karmazin will hit the canvas once, but should be ahead for most of the rest of the fight. I'll take Karmazin UD.
