Default Another great fight in the Welterweight division

Luis Collazo and Selcuk Aydin are going at it after long bouts of inactivity for both fighters. I think this is a great example of boxer vs. puncher and should be very competitive. The winner gets an interim WBC title (the right to face the winner of Berto/Quintana)

Collazo did enough to merit a rematch against Berto in a fight that I really enjoyed. Aydin is a power punching prospect and probably the best Turkey has to offer right now. The fight is actually taking place in Turkey on June 5th of this year (the same day as Foreman/Cotto).

From what I've seen of both of them I see Collazo winning handily, he has such a good chin and when he comes prepared he competitive on any level. Berto was the first fight surprisingly he wasn't working full time while training for. He came in 6 pounds lighter than he did against Mosley and Hatton and it showed in his output.

Aydin is very very strong and he has the home court advantage. I give Collazo all the credit in the world he has to do everything the hard way on the opposite side of where the money's at, but Aydin's power has made quite a few fighters become very timid.

Aydin is an oddball but as strong as they come.Very pronounced and almost as heavy with feet, movement as he is with his hands.Bit of a Hamed-Darchinyan knock off but below from what Ive seen.Fun to watch, power will make him or break him.He 'goes' for it.

Shame Collazo does not get a higher profile return off tight call vs Berto. He has what it takes to beat Aydin but needs to be on point at all times.....need to see this one.Nice under the radar fight that should produce some tense moments.

OK, well simply put, he's got short extremely powerful arms, he is almost immobile because EVERYTHING he does is based on power. The thing that gives him a shot against Collazo is his will. You know exactly what's coming, straight power punches while he's walking forward what people don't realize is how hard the shots are.

I'll give Collazo a good chin. Wouldn't call it great

I like watching Collazo in any fight...He comes in and does not lay down and is not a steam over opp..

Not a great fighter but shows what being a fighter is about

Absolutely agree, you know he's struggling on the management end because he's still working his day job.

There seems to be some title holders, at Welterweight. Or upcoming fighters i've missed out on, because of how much news Pacquiao/Mayweather gets.

Vyacheslav Senchenko = Never even heard of this guy, he has a 30-0 record. And he has the WBA title. But he's already 32 so i can't seem him being that good personally, but maybe im wrong.

Saul Alvarez = Young 19 year old Mexican fighter, taking the route of other Mexican greats by fighting as a pro at only 16. I know nothing of this guy, other than when i heard his name being mentioned. For a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Luis Carlos Abregu = 29-0 seems a fair puncher over 70 percent KO record.

Jan Zaveck = He caught my attention by blowing out Isaac Hlatshwayo, but other than that i don't really know much about him.

Looks like i've missed out on quite a few upcoming names.

This is a good fight, I think Collazo 'wins' the fight by about 8 rounds to 4, maybe getting dropped on the way, but loses by a split decision on the cards. Aydin is better than Shumenov imo, he's worked far more on learning the craft then trying to get straight to a title shot. Assuming Berto wins tonight, I think if he fights the winner, he'll beat them handily. One other thing, I've said this before, but Collazo priced himself out of a Berto rematch. He wanted more for himself than HBO was willing to put up for BOTH of them. He only has himself to blame there.

LOL yea i've fell behind for sure, since i've been posting more often again. i've been catching up, but im more busy now with the new family and ETC. That i haven't been following the sport like i did.

But as i said im getting back into the groove, and thanks to my brothers across the pond. For letting us know the upcoming big fights, because otherwise i'd be clueless.
