Default " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"

Booth: “We are not considering anything or any opponents at the moment. None whatsoever. We want to let everything settle, the last year was quite busy with negotiations for four world title fights, two of which have taken place, and David is now going to take a well-earned rest.

Jesus christ, the guy has fought 4 fights in two and half years but he needs rest?? I thought he wants out by the time he is 31?

Getting very boring this, needs to sort out a fight with the Klits no doubt they are waiting for them both to be tied up then they will come out with the Klits didn't want any of David Haye, fuck your rest sort the fight out for late summer/Autumn then have your fucking rest!!!!

.....I am not surprised, I'm also not amused (but the new WBA title holder theme song helps)

WTF so negotiations take a lot out of fighters now? He hardly took a lot of punishment in either of his last two fights. If he's serious about cleaning up the division and retiring by the time he's 31 then he needs to stop screwing about and sign up to fight a Klit

Hahaha the negotiations line is GREAT!

I now know what excuse I will use for Floyd if Mosley beats him. Those Pacquiao negotiations took to much out of him, it was obvious he returned to the ring much to soon.

He took the 2 easiest fights possible and pulled out of the 2 hardest, give him a break that takes a lot out of a guy

Diva. end of. I don't care if he's the greatest, most talented, most powerful and fastest heavyweight ever. At the end of the day he's just talk who has time to wait around on him?

Yes I recognize the job he did on Ruiz, but how can you be the savior of the division you fight in once a year?

In his prime Tyson was fighting 4-5 times a year

    Lewis? 2-3 times a year

    Vitali? 2-3 times a year

    Wlad? 2-3 times a year

    Ali? 4 times a year

    Haye? 1 time a year

Becoming a joke mate, Wlad will be lining his next fight up soon so that fight will pass us by once again, I am getting the imprerssion Haye and Booth are clever men who are in this game to become rich men without taking much risk, might be jumping the gun a bit but your average man in the UK who doesn't no much about Boxing actually think Haye is the new fucking Tyson the way he is on every fucking tv show claiming he is the " WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP " Which is technically correct but he is playing on the casual fan who believe he is the number 1.

If he doesn't fight any of the Klits next he can fuck off Haye!

So is this an official statement that Haye has talked himself into exhaustion?

What amazes me about the Klitschko/Haye thing is that Klitschko did sooo much talking beforehand and then had shots at BOTH Klitschkos. So he backed out of both, he's human he's allowed to. But to STILL talk shit, say they are scared (it's obvious they're not) and keep yapping is borderlinne indefensible. It's crazy people get so caught up in either hating or liking a guy tht facts tend to blind them. When you back out of 2 fights then say negotiating 2 fights (Booth said it but w/e) took a lot out is nonsense. But Bitschko rhymes

That sounds like Booth was asked a question about who's next for Haye and he politely was saying he don't know.

To be fair Haye is kind of embarrassing but if he knocks out Wlad he instantly becomes the greatest human being ever.

I know mate, when he fought Ruiz my mate was talking like Haye would beat a prime Tyson I think Haye and Booth realise that a fight with either Klit could end badly and ruin his career, so they'll try and make as much money possible before they happen. I didn't criticise Haye for pulling out of both fights before but to say he needs a break after 2 fights? Its pathetic. He'll probably end up in their with Holyfield or Briggs next

According to trainer and manager of Haye, Adam Booth - who informed Gareth. A Davies of Telegraph Sport that his fighter has "no interest" in a fight with the New Yorker - the idea of such a fight should not even be taken seriously.

"I'm surprised it has even been taken seriously even on a website," Booth said disparagingly.

So, who will Haye, fresh off his exciting 9th-round stoppage of a game John Ruiz, look to fight next now that "The Cannon" is out of the picture? Somewhat depressingly, Booth says Haye has no upcoming opponent in mind at all, and that the 29-year-old will instead look to take a break from fighting.

"We are not considering anything or any opponents at the moment," Booth went on. "None whatsoever. We want to let everything settle, the last year was quite busy with negotiations for four world title fights, two of which have now taken place, and David is now going to take a well-earned rest."

So, it appears as though Wladimir Klitschko's own recent calling out of Haye (via a well publicised You Tube message) will also not be answered any time soon. How long, though, will Haye's "well-earned rest" last? Let's face it, for a primed and peaking warrior such as "The Hayemaker," a schedule that has consisted of just two fights since November of 2008 is not one that should have caused any problems. Yet now Booth is telling us Haye will take a break. Add to this the promise Haye has made of how he will retire at the age of 31, and it looks like the exciting heavyweight puncher may only been seen in the ring on a further two or three occasions at the most.

If Haye really does want to face Wladimir Klitschko, for the "Real" heavyweight championship, what is he waiting for? Turning down Briggs is one thing, but fighting no-one else instead, at least for the time being, is not something that will sit well with the fans. Especially when Haye declared himself, not too long ago, as being the saviour of the heavyweight division!

The initial chat was replying to Shannon Briggs calling out Haye.
