Default Reality Hit Home Regarding the GREAT MIKE TYSON Story

lets get this in to perspective....Tyson beat a very washed up Trevor Berbick to win the title at 20.....then he was fed one over the hill bum after another....then he fought Michael Spinks who was a blown up light heavy (lol) who hadn't fought for over 1 year......& then when he thought he was indestructable and believed all his own hype he stopped training and got beat by a motivated Buster Douglas who used his boxing skills and didn't get bullied to show everyone with half a brain on how to beat this overhyped short armed guy......after this first defeat the myth faded and never again was he a threat to any half decent heavyweight out there.....he beat Donavon Ruddock with many difficulties in 2 fights....then when he got his sorry arse outta jail he was fed more fodder and then he was handed walk over fights to regain portions of the heavyweight championship against Bruce (He Seldom Quits) and Frank (I'm walking to my death) Bruno......any way you get the message....MIKE TYSON was a well orchestrated publicity stunt and believe me I was caught up in the IRON Mike Tyson thing (but I eventually GREW UP and realised it was all RUBBISH.....and its pathetic to listen to the banter about if Mike was around today bollox......Mike would have struggled against both Kilts....I think Tyson would have rather have gone to Jail then face David Haye....just like he did when a Holyfield fight was scheduled....and we ALL know what hapened when they finally got it together DON'T WE........lol.....yes Tyson didn't like it did he, so he goes bites Holyfields ears off.....nice one Tyson really showed your class there didn't u..........So people if you look through all the bullshit you will have to admit TYSON came around at the right time and was managed brilliantly to never having to fight any one with a half decent change to bother the publicity wave which was Tyson's career.......lol!!

Sorry to break some people's hearts but some times the truth hurts....i'm a little upset how we were all taken for a ride and then let down real hard.....well there we go TOUGH LOVE baby....TOUGH frigging LUVVVV

There is no smoke without fire! If it was all hype, why had nobody else had that much interest/acclaim since (or between the time of Ali & Tyson) The marketing wasn't that great!!

When Mike came along, he unified the 3 titles by beating 3 seperate defending champions, no one has done that since Thats what you call unifying and being undisputed

All in all, Mike beat 5 defending champions, Lewis only beat 1

Mike beat all the defending champions of his era (with Rooney) in the 80's then wiped the floor with the linear champ and absolutely ruined Holmes like no one else would have been able to

The only defending champion Lewis fought was Holyfield and he could only manage a draw in their first fight and the second I thought Holyfield wan

I am a Tyson fan and you make some good points but why spoil it by saying Haye would beat Tyson. Please.

Agreed...A Prime Tysonm against A prime Haye...Or the version right now...Tyson beats Haye inside of 3 rounds if that long....

Tyson was a different animal then...He came at guys with such power and ferocious intent....People seem to think the Tyson that lost by stoppage to Holyfield, Williams, WTF that last guys name was McBride I think...Or even my ATG favorite HW Lennox Lewis...Those stoppages were not of the prime Tyson....The one up until The Williams fight...That was a dangerous man!!!...A man who was rightfully feared in the ring....

Sorry Haye ends up on his back for sure

    eh eh!!!

Did he blow you off for an autograph? Sure he would have struggled with both Klitschko brothers but so would any other HW in history struggle with the versions of them right now....Tyson also stated why the ear bite happened and if you have seen the Holyfield fights you would know he was speaking the truth...Was the bite wrong? Of course no matter what that should not have happened but so was being butted and elbowed how many times?...

WTF is the whole short armed guy comment about? What that means he was nothing but Hype? Please tell us your thoughts on Marciano....He had a 67
    ' reach Tyson had a 71" reach.....

This whole post is the actions of a tool with little merit other then rants that have been said by others....Speand less time worring about posting Job Biscuit
at the end of your post and more time putting real logic into them...

Your logic is funnier then your tag line

Lets put things into perspective here. Tyson wasnt a pro 2yrs. He was brought along well, fighting the right kinda guys for his developement like they all do. He fights a champ, not a great one, but a champ nevertheless. Beats him.He then fights another champ, again not a great one, but a champ nevertheless. Beats him too. Fights another champ, Beats him too. All leading up to a fight which is only the 2nd time up to that point, that 2 undefeated heavyweight champs ever fought. He knocks him dead. Tyson had just turned 22yrs old by that fight.
Now im not a tyson nut-hugger but thats pretty impressive in my book. It wasnt tysons fault if these guys werent great. He beat them all fair and square and at a very young age so i think people should cut him a bit of slack for his achievements before he turned into the circus that hes probably now more famous for.
As for Haye.....For f***s sake give me a break

Tyson was and always will be nothing more than a well promoted HW that could hit hard with both hands. Don King should be in the HOF for the way he built up those stiffs thrown into the ring with tyson...

Don King had the craap version of Tyson.

Its really hard for people to admit Mike was awesome, not just awesome but a force of nature, he had everything, speed, power, stamina, resiliance, balance, and some of the best defence and offence the sport has ever seen.

Like I said, name a heavy weight fighter post tyson that has beaten 5 defending champions?

    Not even Holyfield.

i agree it was a bad area for quality but tyson went thru them like butter! i probably wouldnt have tyson in my top 10 of heavys of all time tho.

i understand wot u are saying that people see his reign thru rose tinted glasses, but i wanna remember it as good times as look at the fkin state of the heavyweight scene now

    tyson would decapitate haye tho

im pretty sure spinks would have been if tyson didnt knock him out - he beat (controversal i know) holmes twice, but even beating him one out of two times would put him right at the top.

I dont think many other fighters would have knocked out berbick in his prime in 2, spinks in 1, a prime bruno in 5 ( lewis took 7 about 7 years later), even a rusty old version of holmes who took ''great'' evander holyfield 12 rounds 7 years after in four etcetc

Tyson could hit harder than most heavies and was very quick and styles might have something to do with how the kayos happened vs against other fighters...
