Thread: Mexico's Julio Cesar Miranda KO's Filipino Richie Mepranum in 5 to claim World Title!

congrats to mexico's julio cesar miranda for winning the vacant WBO flyweight over stylish filipino mepranum via 5th round ko. with the victory, miranda becomes the 110th mexican-born world boxing champion, and incidently, widens mexico's lead over the philippines in world title fights to 45-23-4.

going into the fight, i thought it was a toss-up fight because filipino mepranum looked spectacular in his last fight when he shutout mexican undefeated prospect, hernan marquez. but i also knew miranda was one tough SOB and would probably walk down mepranum because of his lack of power.

again, congrats julio cesar miranda, mexico's newest world champion!

it's funny but alot of richie mepranum's fans are calling him a "bum". i think this is outrageous and very disrespectful. i mean, here is a young 23 yo. very good boxer who put his life on the line last night and i understand he was doing very well until miranda hurt him with a liver shot. so he lost! so what, but to call him a bum is crazy.

pacnuts are idiots. all they know about boxing is pacquiao.

its always like that, they hype up our filipino fighters and when they lose, they're a bum right away. it's like a subspecies of keyboard warriors, its irritating and embarrasing.

I am a Filipino, sadly, what you said is true. All they know is about Pacquiao. Why not support another boxer from your own country. And this kind of mentality is the thing that keeps the Philippines from progressing..

just the fight on youtube and miranda put a nice little ass whupping on that little kid. in fact, he made the little filipino quit. mepranum couldn't handle miranda's body shots and got ktfo after going down three times.

its actually your mentality that keeps our country down. people who keeps on saying bad stuff, while not in his own do something about it. i have plenty of pinoy relatives whos been living abroad for a long time. they've been away for a very long time and still they talk shit about philippines. how can you asses something when youre not there personally?

thing with pinoy boxers is that the managers are feeding them to the lions. they want their boxers to earn like pac. thats not how it is, perfect sample is boom2x bautista. he was clearly not in the stage of being an elite boxer and yet his manager threw him at de leon.

pac paved the way and that is a good thing for young boxers. as long as they do it the right way someone will be a world champ. even more i like pac cause nationality aside but he is a freak and has done so many things that we might not witness again in a very long time.

At one point immediately after pac got hurt by an illegal punch or wrestling move, can't remember what it was, pac was gritting his teeth and banged his gloves together like he wanted to slice sanchez in two. If that's a facial expression of someone who wanted to quit, you gotta rethink your ability to read peoples expressions.

I've read numerous posts of yours where you were lambasting pac for cheating. I'm not saying he's not, we really don't know that. But at the same time, you're so full of praises for margo and you would even favor dirty agapito for pac. your hate knows no bounds bro. just admit it.

In the video he pounded his gloves after he got tangled with agapito when they both fell down, clearly a sign that he wants to whoop agapito's ass in a way his mother won't even recognise him, thereafter.
