Default Question/Poll re: Pac v Mayweather Ratings???

    Simple....

Do you think all this drama and delay of the most demanded fight in boxing at the moment will have :

    A) Hurt the ratings compared to what they would have been if they had made the fight right away and carried the momentum and hype from their most recent fights?

    B) Made even more people interested in the fight and actually add to the hype/storyline/drama?

    C) Doesn't matter either way.. The fight will happen, and the buys will be the same regardless of whether they made the fight right away like men, or dragged it out with their pussy/diva drama..?

I would go with A but only because of my own perceptions. I was well up for the fight, but what has gone on since has turned me cold. I would like to see the fight, but I'm at the stage where I don't really care too much if it doesn't happen.

The whole charade has become boring. It's two men looking to cash out at the end and they both know it.

BTW, maybe a Mod could add a poll if there should be a poll.

    I'll say C.

The on and off nature of the negotiations has pissed me off, as I'm sure is has many hardcore fans, but I don't think it will deter anyone from watching. Most casual fans probably don't know all that much about the negotiating process and will still buy the fight.

However, I do think the fighters may have hurt themselves in not making the fight sooner. A few months ago it seemed like all anyone could talk about was Pacquiao - Mayweather, even those who usually ignore the sport, and I think some of that hype has slipped away.

I think Diz can edit his post to put in a poll if he wants to.

It's okay I guess we can just leave it as a discussion....

im afraid this fight has lost its momentum, i was so up for this after pac/cotto but its starting to play out like a soap opera now, and in a way is making a mock of the sport.
So i guess im saying A.

I agree with all the existing comments...

When the fight finally gets announced, both of these guys need to earn some of their credibility and respect back that they've lost through this crap...

The thing is, after all this, Mayweather's trash talking on 24/7 and such is kind of redundant... They have both proved to be pussyish when it comes to negotiations and stepping up the plate to give the other guy a whooping,,, letting politics, money, principles stand in the way of being true warriors.... So I gotta say after all this, I won't be able to stand hearing much of Mayweathers crap, and I think he'll probably realise their isn't as much room for it as usual when you've been part of the reason the most demanded fight in boxing has been put off for at least 6 months....

I think they really need to have a cracking promotion of this fight, because im sure people will still be buying the fight, but the fight has lost some of it's lustre.. Which I think has some with the fighters losing some of their lustre through making everyone in the boxing community sick of them...

Honest to god, I really thought this drama was just about pre-fight hype. But the thing is, the fight contract is sittin' somewhere in the "big boy mansion". Mayweather is not gonna sign the dotted line. Nah-uh, the coward is gonna wait til someone beats Pac and unretire himself again. Because he knows that's the only way he can claim his throne back as the best boxer on the planet. And ofcourse, Pac will keep fighting until he starts heading down the hill and start sucking. Cuz that's all ATG warriors do... they fight to the finish. Damn it Floyd. Just sign the damn contract. Prove you're not a fukking coward. You owe this to all boxing fans.

I say "C", but i def wont be buying it as the last PPVs haven't turned out to be worth the 50 bucks....And this will be just another PBF one sided fight that everyone will be sold on the "possibility" of him losing...

surely you would buy this one whatever ??!!

I pay no notice to any reports now and won't till I see it confirmed that it's signed.

they are dragging it out needlessly, not sure why with the money on offer, but if they don't fight they will have given a massive 'v' sign to the sport and fans that has made them incredibly rich

I think it's B. Even though I too have got sick of the drag, I think that the excitement will take over if/when it does get signed. Also I think they will time the announcement around the end of July personally. With the World Cup & LeBron having hogged headlines in recent weeks, I think they'll wait for a lull to be top story on the sports channels.

i think its B. I don't see how it could possibly hurt. PBF has even more momentum coming off a destruction of Mosely as oppossed to one of JMM, since Mosley possessed all the qualities used to poo-poo the JMM destruction: big, natural welter, long reach, etc. Pac meanwhile convincingly outclassed Clottey.

The only people frustrated are boxing superfans, since we're checking google news every day for a developpemtnt and getting frustrated., but no superfan is going to miss the fight out of spite. We're like the american left who must vote for the dems no matter how often they're screwed by them. whats the alternative, Nadar?

So the long courtship can only have a postive effect or none at all. I say the former just becasue of the extra press and drama. It'll probabaly be the biggest money fight in history.
